((sorry about the late reply, but you have to give me a little more to go on mate )) "Aye so do I," Lorna agreed with a nod. "Poor girl's quite devastated by the whole thing."The biologist cast a glance over at her Dragonite to ensure that he was behaving himself. It looked like he was getting chummy with Jasper's Blaziken - that was good at least. The poor dragon had been so on edge lately he wasn't liable to make many friends with strange pokemon which was rather sad considering how jolly Dragonite normally was. Lorna returned her pale gaze to Jasper and smiled. "That Blaziken of yours looks mighty strong. Are you going to take on the League here?"

(I'm sorry. I was quite braindead when I last replied. ^^; )
"I wouldn't doubt that...Poachers themselves are devastating with their very existence..." When inquired about the League, he thought a moment, pursing his lips. "Well...What do you think, Rowan? Think you'd want to go against a few leaders?"
The Blaziken looked at the trainer like he was crazy a moment. Then made a sarcastic grumbling sort of sound.
"Guess not..." He chuckled lightly, shaking his head. "I've always been one to travel and observe and battle. Neither of us are much for competition; we just like exploration and learning and fun. Maybe someday, but I don't think it'll be anytime soon." He paused. "'Course, Rowan's is fairly strong...A friendly battle once in a while against a challenging opponent wouldn't bother him too much." The statement was a small hint at a challenging inquiry. He was interested in seeing what this biologist and her friend could do, but he wasn't going to be pushy.

Lorna picked up on Jasper's hint immediately and chuckled. She glanced over her shoulder at Dragonite. "Well we haven't had a good match in quite a while - what do you say old boy?"The large yellow dragon bobbed his head and let out a trumpeting roar, now looking much more at ease having discerned that Jasper's Blaziken did not have any sinister intentions. The biologist laughed and beckoned her pokemon closer, patting his scaly hide affectionately. "What say you to a quick battle then, three pokemon a piece hm?"((We can decide the winner ahead of time via PM if you like I don't have any particular preference haha around here w usually just do a sort of coin toss using the magic of the internets))

Rowan returned the Dragonite's roar with a confident call of his own, looking almost excited at the idea of a good challenge. Jasper chuckled at the fire he could already see in both Pokemon's eyes, and, perhaps, their trainer's. Then the sound turned a little off with ever-so-slight embarrassment. "Well...If you want to switch out with three, that's fine by me. Rowan's done that sort of battle before plenty of times. See, I only have one Pokemon. I've had more in the past, but they've all ended up helping a professor in another region or just doing their own thing in the end..." (Okay. I'm not picky, either.)

"One on one? I'm perfectly fine with that," Lorna grinned. "I've got work to be doing anyway."
With a jerk of her head she indicated to her partner to step forward. Dragonite bobbed his horned head, picking up on the signal. Lorna walked away, putting some distance between herself and Jasper, but leaving Dragonite standing in the middle of the field waiting for Blaziken to take his position and start the battle.

Jasper returned the gesture as he patted his Blaziken's shoulder. Then he made his way to the end of the field opposite of Lorna while Rowan moved to stand a few feet away from his opponent. Being courteous, the Pokémon dipped his head a bit in a slight bow.
"This will be fun. We're rusty, but there's nothing like a good workout once on a while." The trainer called with a smile, his back to Lorna. He broke into a grin again as he looked over his shoulder and waited until she was ready. Immediately, he whirled around. "All right, Rowan! Start off with Blaze Kick!" The Blaziken responded instantaneously, making his charge for the dragon.
