Roxanne danced along with Soren, but immediately noticed that Brooke was causing him to stare off. She took no offense to this- quite on the contrary, she found it very amusing. Without any spoken word made, her Sableye slid off her shoulders and scuttled across the floor towards Brooke. When it reached her, it tugged gently at her beautiful dress, and if it let her, would lead her to the dance floor directly towards Mr. Forberg.
Keeping him distracted, Roxanne smiled mischievously up at Soren. "She looks absolutely stunning, doesn't she? Don't worry, I won't get in the way of you two. I just wanted to express my thanks for the training you've helped with."
She added with a sneaky twinkle in her eye, "And soon enough, I will be a proud possessor of your Badge. What say ye?"
She hoped Brooke would arrive soon. She wanted to refresh her eyeliner and sneak a few bites before looking for more trouble.

Evie chuckled when Seth was at a loss for words, but when he managed to tell her how she looked even Evie couldn't stop herself from blushing. "Thank you." After a moment, she'd grab his hand and playfully pull him towards the dance floor, "Come on, dance with me!" She grinned, leading him out if he willingly came after. "Can you waltz, Seth?" Evie asked as they stepped onto the dance floor, Evie already arranging the hold for the dance.

Before he had much time to react Seth was being pulled towards the dance floor. The striking reality that he couldn't dance swept over him, but he easily got over it. His mind would jump over cliffs if it meant being closer to Evelyn.
Once there, she asked him if he knew how to waltz. "Uh, no... do you?" He hoped she did, mainly for the sake of not wanting to embarrass her in such a public place. He could feel his heart pounding inside his chest in the sheer joy she brought to him.
-"By Mew and Arceus!"- he thought. -"I'm actually dancing with her!"-

(Guys don't worry about posting order. This is the type of role play where you don't really need it because there's so much going on. Post as of when you can, I am! I want to get as much as I can done before I go!)
Evie chuckled, she didn't expect Seth to know how to dance; which gave her the opportunity to help, "As a matter of fact, yes, I do." She grinned at him and adjusted his left arm so his hand was about her waist and laid her hand on his elbow. She took his right hand and held it at the angle required, she stepped closer to him and peered up at him with a smile, "This is the hold, it's easier to dance closely to someone than have them an armsway apart. Plus, it stops you staring at your feet." She grinned, "We'll just do the basic steps, now, you move your left foot first..." Evie would begin to instruct him on the movements until they would have the basic steps covered, she wouldn't go a moment without telling him what to do. That'd be cruuuel.

Ignus kept waltzing with Lumine even when the 3/4 time came around, despite the secret that he didn't dance much at the Champion parties and get-togethers. Ignus was just glad that he was with her, and he noticed Brooke out of the corner of his eye and smiled a little, then turned his attention back to the Pokemon Ranger he invited to this party.
With him and Lumine, due to their reputations, they had to maintain a safe distance and not give the media any hints so that they could post anything that could hurt said reputations. He cared a lot about Lumine, true, but he just didn't feel like he was ready to confess it to just anyone. Lumine, on the other hand...he trusted her to make sure that anyone she told the truth about them to keep it quiet, at least until they retired from being Champions...which he felt was a long ways off.
"Are you enjoying yourself, Lumine? My apologies for bringing up the invite on such short notice, but I was a tad rushed..." He kept waltzing with her in the quick 3/4 time, making sure that she kept up with him.

Lumine, meanwhile, was still a tad pre-occupied with the thought that Ignus had invited her...and was dancing with her. She never really knew Ignus as the gentleman type, since he tends to be a bit blunt at times...but this was a special night for everyone, even them. When the question was brought up, she immediately realized that it was for her, and ended up looking into his eyes for a brief moment, blue looking into amber, and then she blushed massively and looked down, but still kept time with Ignus as they waltzed.
"Y...Yes...I'm having a wonderful time, Ignus...because...you're here...with me..." She whispered the last part, but she knew Ignus would catch it. She smiled and kept waltzing, making sure not to trip herself on his feet. "What a great night to wear heels, Lumine...but, it's very much worth it..."

Post by Soren Forberg on Dec 19, 2011 14:42:40 GMT -5
Soren gave Roxanne a questioning look, confused at her words - until he looked up and saw his young companion's Sableye leading Brooke through the crowd towards him. He looked slightly panicked and responded in a light growling tone. "Miss Jezek it will be hard to win my badge if I'm dead," he muttered as the dance ended and they parted ways.
Soren cleared his throat and straightened his cravat, a dead give away to his nervousness and bowed low to the Pokemon Professor. "Professor Verity I'm so glad you could make it," he said, attempting to plaster a smile on his face. Sableye smothered a grin before scampering back to its trainer leaving the pair alone. Soren gave the little ghost-type a sidelong glare before focusing his pale blue gaze back on Brooke. Roxanne had been right, Brooke looked absolutely beautiful. Drawing a deep breath to calm himself Soren extended a hand towards her. "Would you - care for a dance?"

Woah. Woah there Sableye. Brooke does not want those very sharp claws of yours tearing up her dress- oh great Arceus above he's climbing all over her and now dragging her towards the dance floor, "By the hand, the hand please. I really don't need this dress ruined now!" even though the Pokemon was being considerate with his tugging it was never the less with talons. This was chiffon it could so eeeeasily snag! Her face was a picture until she offered her hand to the ghost type, so he took her by the bracelet instead. Better than chiffon anyhow.
She hadn't thought on where the Pokemon was taking her, the critter was familiar; a particular specimen she had met before undoubtedly. It was when the Sableye dumped her with Soren and skittered back to the blond whom also looked very familiar.. Brooke pictured more colour in her hair and quickly recognised her to be Roxane. Damn her. Setting her up like this.
For the sake of their image, Brooke smiled at Soren politely, "Good evening Mr Forberg, I suppose I can't really refuse you now we're standing in the middle of the dance floor." She curtsied to him, then offered her hand, "Come on then." There was an odd confidence to her tone, the cause revealed once they would begin to dance. The previous time Brooke had waltzed with Soren she didn't have a clue at what she was doing, but now it would become clear she was much more prepared. Definitely not perfect! But enough so she wouldn't accidentally step on Soren's toes.

Soren smiled, feeling more than a little relieved when she accepted his hand and he led her out onto the floor. She'd improved greatly since their last encounter in the ballroom, he decided as she followed his movements with smooth confidence. He smiled warmly at her, wintry eyes softening in a rare show of emotion. She looked radiant tonight, and more importantly happy.
"Sorry about this," he said with a quick laugh. "My wayward training partner has become a little...wayward it seems."
He kept a steady hand on her waist as he guided them into a tight spin which she handled very well. "You look lovely tonight by the way," he said with a bit of mischief twinkling in his pale eyes. "Red is most definitely your colour."

((Errybody disappeared! >.>))
Lorna chuckled as she downed another glass of Merlot in one swallow before returning her attention to the group of scientists she was chatting with, discussing theories and research plans. One or two of Soren's more prestigious guests had even dropped in on the conversation, much to Lorna's delight - always good to chat up potential funders. As it was one of Soren's distant cousins, a lovely young lady with a keen interest in the biologist's dragon studies, seemed quite charmed by the older woman.
"My it seems like Kansai has no shortage of adventure, I envy you Lorna I really do," the young woman sighed. "I dabble in some work in Kanto, but there's never much to do in the way of field work."
"Well I'm always on the lookout for competent aides - if you ever get the fancy to come to Kansai look me up ."
Cassandra Rathbone beamed at the older woman. "Oh certainly Ma'am." She suddenly peered over Lorna's shoulder and giggled. "Oh my, would you look at that!"
Lorna turned around and was delightfully surprised to see Brooke and Soren waltzing across the dance floor, though this time the pokemon professor seemed infinitely more at ease and Soren - well Soren looked as pleased as any man could with a pretty young lady dancing with him. Lorna let out a bark of laughter and snatched up another glass of wine from a passing servant. "Well blow me down, willingly dancing with Forberg and she hasn't made one attempt to kill him yet - 'tis a Christmas miracle!"

(Sorry. ><" Holiday celebrations and all...)
Ignus had finished dancing with Lumine and had taken the liberty of going towards the buffet table and eating, though he hasn't drank any wine yet. Never really liked having alcohol unless he was completely depressed, and tonight...well, he didn't really feel depressed in the slightest. Seeing Brooke and Soren dancing on the dance floor made the Explorer raise an eyebrow. Hearing Lorna's laughter and statement nearby made him even more curious, then he just chuckled.
"My, my...seems the holiday magic is working extra shifts tonight of all nights..."

Post by Terrance Fletcher on Jan 2, 2012 6:27:07 GMT -5
Terrance hated social events. In fact, he loathed them. He had initially turned down Brooke’s offer, saying that there was some business that required attending to up in the mountains. Of course, such as his luck, his business was also going to this ball. That meant he would need to go too, joy. He had hoped that maybe Vera would go with him, she laughed in his face and claimed she was staying home with ice cream and some rented movies. He couldn’t blame her, as a Gym Leader she knew she’d be swamped. A Warden wouldn’t.
Despite that, he didn’t look bad in a dinner jacket. Although it was entirely out of character and he looked extraordinarily uncomfortable, he missed the feel of a pack on his back and comfortable walking boots; not these fancy shiny shoes, they felt slippery as he walked. He realised he ought to actually take part in his party at some point, and saw Ignus depart Lumine. Terrance shrugged, his dancing wasn’t awful, and he may as well try. He’d stride over to her, feeling completely unbalanced in this new garb. He approached the blond and offered her his hand, ”May I have the next dance?” He asked with a charming smile.

Lumine smiled and curtsied as Ignus departed. She had to admit, the Explorer knew how to dance...very well. She smiled, then felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see Terrance, blinking seeing him. "Oh, Mr. Fletcher, I didn't know you were here..." Upon seeing a hand offered to her and an invite to dance, she smiled and curtsied. "Of course, Mr. Fletcher." She then took his hand, glancing at Ignus hoping that he wouldn't get jealous. But then again, Ignus was almost like a statue when it came to jealousy, in the sense that he didn't express it often or didn't show it as much.
Lumine then began to dance with Terrance, a smile on her face. "It's been a while since I've seen you, Mr. Fletcher. How have you been?"

(Sorry, family troubles and holiday cheer all in one, now I reply more ) Evie took the lead very gracefully, and it was easy to follow her without looking totally... well, noobish. Still, she was quite close to him, the only time she was ever this close was in his dreams... He pushed the thought aside, not wanting to do anything embarrassing. "Evie... you know, I've never been good at being graceful, but it must have been given to you by Suicune himself." There, he said it without screwing up. He'd been wanting to say that for a while now...
