Evie and Gligar cheered for their victory, maybe they’d be in for a shot at winning? How naive she was; not realising the man before her was a Gym Leader. Pikachu would be alright, Evie knew it. She grinned at Gligar who beamed a fanged smile back, ”Good job! Just one more to go and we can win this!” she turned back, and that’s when Tobias threw his next Pokeball.
"Good work Gligar, I hope you saved some energy for this one."
From a ray of light, the large dragon shaped Pokémon appeared; Flygon. Evie gulped, regretting she picked to fight this Pokémon; but she quickly snapped out of it. "This is where I get serious Evie... Will you grant me the same courtesy?" Evie flashed him a smirk and nodded.
”You bet! Gligar, let’s start things up with an Aerial Ace!” At least she knew this attack was going to hit, Aerial Ace was nigh unmissable. After that though? That’s what Evie feared for, Flygon was dragon/ground; Evie had no Pokémon who knew an ice type move. She’d just have to tough it out...

Tobias grinned as the Gligar came at Flygon, perfect. "Use fly..." He said, the Flygon going straight up, Tobias grinning as Gligar followed it, still attacking. "Let it hit you then grab it." He said as flygon nodded and pulled back, doing a backwards flip before letting the Gligar crash into its chest, taking some damage but getting a good grip on the pokemon. "Bring it to the ground then use Eathquake." Tobias shouted, Flygon nodding again before turning into a nose dive, the two pokemon plummeting for the ground, Gligar held tightly in Flygon's grip. Tobias wondered how much damage this would do to a ground type pokemon, eyes locked on the two, eager to see the results.

Gligar followed Flygon higher up into the sky, Evie didn’t quite understand what he was trying to do. She had to bring up her hands to shield her eyes to see the two Pokémon up there, "Let it hit you then grab it." Evie gasped, snatching a glance to Tobias before her eyes returned to the two fliers. Gligar connected with Flygon, the attack a success; but now Flygon had the advantage. Another ordered was issued by Tobias, and Evie yelped, ”Get out of there Gligar! Use X-Scissor!” Her desperate attempt to help Gligar came too slowly, she now realised the power of Tobias’ Flygon. Gligar didn’t stand a chance.
She shielded her eyes as the two Pokémon collided with the ground, which shook violently in that area. Evie nearly buckled back because of the sheer impact, but once the dust had cleared Evie peeled open an eye, then the other. She ran forward to see what had happened, Gligar was out. ”Oh you poor thing. You did a great job Gligar. Don’t worry about it.” She knelt down to hold the Pokémon in her arms, Gligar managed a soft call before being returned to the Pokéball.
Evie turned, ”Alright then. Servine! Come on!” The Pokémon at the side of the field all turned to cheer the snake like Pokémon on as it trotted out onto the battlefield, a smug expression on its face. ”Alright Servine, let’s bring it back. Use Double Team and follow it up with Leaf Blade!” She wasn’t hanging around this time! Servine suddenly split into thousands of copies that surrounded Flygon, after feeling that it was suitably confused; the real Servine would leap out from behind – the leaf on the end of its tail glowing vibrant green as it whipped its body around to go and try for the hit.

Tobias smiled as the Servine used double team, uttering his order as the pokemon started to split. "Sandstorm..." He said watching as Flygon battered its wings, a great cloud of sand kicking up on the battlefield. Flygon's eyes were designed to see in these conditions, as far as Tobias knew, Servine could not. The was a loud impact sound within the cloud nd a cry from Flygon, the leaf blade must have hit. "Counter with Dragon Pulse..." Tobias shouted, hearing the attack start to charge before releasing with a loud bang. Tobias could not tell whether it had hit or not so waited to see what had happened.

Upon the sandstorm's creation, Servine's duplicates vanished in the raging storm. But the Leaf Blade hit, that was good at least. "Counter with Dragon Pulse." Evie flinched at his words, knowing that Servine wouldn't be able to hack it; this Flygon was far too strong. When the sandstorm settled, Servine was left unconscious amongst the grass, "No! Servine!" Evie cried, rushing over to the fallen snake pokemon. The others came over as well, Serviper, Milotic and the rest to see if it was alright. It had been an intense battle. "You win Tobias. You're too strong for me." Evie sighed, picking up Servine and cradling him in her arms, "I'm guessing you're one of those real tough trainers? Like the explorers?" She asked, but with a smile on her face; oh she was sad she lost, but it had been a fun battle regardless. Servine was returned to its pokeball and so were the rest of her pokemon with the exception of Vulpix.

Tobias nodded and walked back towards her, lifting his hand up and patting Flygon's neck as the pokemon came to stand next to him. "Good work Flygon, your sandstorm is getting stronger every time you use it." He said gently stroking his pokemon's neck then moving his hand to its head as Flygon lowered it. Tobias looked back up to Evie smiling as he held his hand out towards her again, feeling he needed to introduce himself again.
"Tobias Clark, Special Attack Gym Leader." He said winking to her as Flygon stretched out its wings behind Tobias, creating a dramatic pose. Flygon liked to show off to other trainers.

Evie glanced down at his hand, initially thinking it was a ‘good sport’ type of thing. She took it with a smile and gave it one firm shake, but her features dropped when he revealed himself to be a Gym Leader. “Y-you-you’re a Gym Leader?!” No wonder she had been thrashed! Evie gawked for a few moments, then shook herself out of it. “Oh my, I mean. Just, wow. A Gym Leader, I actually managed to find one! Not that I was looking... I’m a coordinator, I don’t go for badges. Oh, look at me I’m rambling...” A little star struck? Yes, yes indeed.
She cleared her throat, “Uhm!” Woops, that was a bit squeaky, she coughed and tried again, her cheeks tinged pink; she’d just battled a Gym Leader without even knowing it! “I need to go to the Pokémon Centre. Uhm. Would you like to come with?” She asked. Evie needed to get Gligar and Servine healed, so may as well as Tobias if he wanted to tag along for the ride.

Tobias smiled enjoying the reaction even though he knew he shouldn't. He held up a hand smiling, telling her to stop for a moment as he went into his pack and retrieved 3 Max Revives, holding two out to her. "Here, use these instead, saves the journey right?" he said as he placed one of them onto Pikachu's Pokeball, the Max Revive sinking into it, healing Pikachu. "And yes I am a gym leader." He added chuckling as he put Flygon back into its Pokeball then released Pikachu again, the small electric pokemon sparking at the cheeks again, completely healed and ready to train. "Thank you for the battle, Pikachu needed the experience. Your pokemon are very impressive by the way." Tobias added picking up Pikachu and holding him cradled in his arms.

Evie gasped when Tobias pulled out the max revives and offered them to her so eagerly, "Oh my! Tobias, I can't possibly accept those." She pauses, her cheeks still flushed in embarrassment, "Besides, I need to go back to town anyway because of the parade." She canted her head, "Wait, you're a Gym Leader, shouldn't you be going too? You'll be on the float with the other Gym Leaders...?" She asked, then turned, "Either way, I'll need to leave now to make it back before dark. If you uhm. Want to walk with me that'd be, uhm, nice." Still embarrassed, she couldn't get over the fact that this man was one of the most formidable gym leaders in the world!

Tobias chuckled nodding, still holding the revives out to her. "Take them anyway, I harmed your pokemon, the least I can do is heal them." He said as they started to walk, Pikachu perched on Tobias's shoulder. Tobias thought about the parade had been told to attend, all those crowds, all that chaos, he couldn't think of anything worse. "To be honest with you Evie I have never been a big fan of these sort of things... But if you insist." He said smiling to her again. He was originally planing on skipping the whole event, but now he had someone to go with it might not be so bad.
