Terrance chuckled as the Milotic fell asleep on Soren's chest, "Lisimba, help him out please?" He asked of the lion, "Don't shock it." Terrance added quickly when he heard static crackle in his fur, the Luxray growled in dismay, but continued to trot over to Soren and Milotic; using his large head to gently push Milotic off of Soren so he could move.
When Ignus offered an Ultra Ball, Terrance held out a hand, "Hold that thought." He looked between the group, "Just by chance, would any of you have a Premier Ball?" They ought to catch onto his meaning, after all; they had a white Pokemon here with pinky red eyes - what would be more fitting than a Premier? It was just a thought, Terrance shrugged; as if already accepting the dismissal, "She's special, that's all."
Terrance looked at Arthur, he completely agreed. "Honestly mate. I don't have a clue, I might be pseudo ranger of sorts being warden but I ain't no biologist!" He grinned, twas true. Terrance was actually pretty thick when it came to science, small words required.

"Thank you," Soren muttered as Terrance's Luxray carefully pushed the slumbering Milotic's body off of him. There'd been a moment of slight panic when he thought the lion-like pokemon was going to shock him - the thing did seem a wee bit trigger happy. Gingerly the gym leader sat up, rubbing the back of his aching head as he reached out to accept Ignus' Ultra Ball when Terrance's comment caused to him halt the motion. "Premier ball?...Well actually now that I'm able..."
Without another word Soren walked over to his knapsack and rummaged around in its depths until he produced a small white orb with pink trim. "You know I always carry one of these things, but I've never actually gotten around to using any of them." he said with a slight shrug as he pressed the central button and enlarged the Premier Ball. Carefully he lobbed it at the slumbering albino, the ball opened in midair and the large water-serpent disappeared in a flash of red light. The orb dropped to the ground and wriggled back and forth for a few moments until the light on the central button went out. Soren walked over and picked up the ball, looking at Terrance with a wink. "Good call, she is quite something, no doubt about it."
He clipped the newly caught pokemon onto his belt and looked at the three men. "Let's check out the rest of this cavern, see if there are any more surprises," he said, but as he spoke a low rumble echoed through the cavern. Soren glanced up at the small hole in the ceiling and noted that water was steadily trickling into the hole...a storm was obviously brewing outside which meant that the risk of a flash flood was rapidly increasing. "But, ah, let's be quick about it yes? I don't fancy another swim so soon."

(No one wants to post?)
Terrance grinned at the idea, clapping his hands together. "Sounds like a plan. Let's go have a look then." Lisimba growled in agreement and made his own way further into the cave, Terrance following after. "Hey Ignus, we're gonna definitely need your Rotom here, gets even darker!"

Ignus nodded as he followed them. "Alright, Terrance. Inazuma!" The Rotom Inazuma nodded saying its name once, and used its Flash to light the tunnel as they traverse further into the cave, Ignus making his way carefully over the rocks as Inazuma floated above them lighting the way.

Arthur winced at the Rotom's flash, covering his eyes and swearing quietly. Then swore louder when he hit his foot on a rock. "Does anyone actually have any idea where we're going?" He asked with annoyance. This was boring, there's no treasure in this cave, just rocks. There was no one around he wanted to harass either! Arthur sighed. He better get a share of the fame for all this perseverance.

((sorry, sorry, busy as friggin' hell today - oh and I started a lil random RP thread if anyone wants to break out their other characters for a bit, just for something to do))
Soren nodded, grateful for Rotom's Flash again as they headed deeper into the cavern. Towards the back wall he spotted aother tunnel - it was smaller than the one they'd come through and the water line was precariously high. "Hm, fairly narrow but we should still be able to get through it..." he mused aloud. Looking back over his shoulder he saw the water dripping in through the hole becoming more noticable and the small stream trickling out of the entrance tunnel was starting to swell in size.
The gym leader stroked his jaw thoughtfully and beckoned Terrance closer. "I think we're going to get stuck in a bit of a fix if we stay down here too much longer. I don't think it'd be wise to try and go back the way we came so that leaves us with two options, either climb out through that hole in the ceiling or try going down this tunnel and seeing where it leads...what do you think?"

"...Either climb out through that hole in the ceiling or try going down this tunnel and seeing where it leads...what do you think?"
Terrance had climbed enough rockfaces and squeezed his way through enough tunnels in caves to know taking the group down that tunnel was a bad idea. "If it were just the two of us, I would go down the tunnel. Unfortunately we're double that number, so it would be easier - I think - to go up through the hole. I only have one harness and climbing kit, I would imagine Ignus has one-" He turned to the explorer then, "-you've got a climbing kit right?" Terrance's eyes then rest on Arthur, he somehow doubted the commodore would have one. "I reckon it'd be safest to go one at a time though, so we can alternate between the harnesses." He suggested, "Unless anyone would prefer the tunnel?"

Ignus listened to the whole conversation, and when Terrance turned to him asking if he had a climbing kit, the explorer nodded. "Of course. I always carry an extra climbing kit when necessary. Though we'd best make this quick...unless we wish for this place to be flooded faster than anticipated."
Ignus then made his way back over to the hole in the ceiling from earlier, seeing some water trickle down it. He could tell it wasn't going to be that easy of a climb, but what choice did they have? If they needed to get out, it was now before the water reaches a dangerous level. Taking out his climbing kit, he then looked at Terrance and the others, Inazuma hovering in between them to keep the place lit for all of them with its Flash.

((well can't wait around all day haha))
"True enough," Soren nodded. Indeed, had it just been the pair of them they probably could've managed in the tunnel, but seeing as their party was double that it'd be far too difficult trying to keep an eye on everyone. "I've still got my climbing gear so we should be fine."
As he spoke the gym leader unshouldered his knapsack and started to withdraw his gear, taking care to keep the ropes from tangling. "First one up pretty much has to free climb to set the lines down for the others," he explained as he prepped his gear. Already the water flow in the tunnel was increasing and was sloshing about his ankles menacingly. "Terrance you seem to have the best skill at climbing here, I'm leaving that task to you if you think you can handle it, then we'll start going out one at a time, first you, then Master Duncate, then Ignus, then myself. Is everybody clear on that? We need to get moving lads."

Terrance clapped his hands together, “My pleasure.” The warden set down his pack, pulling out his harness, ropes and the anchors that the others would use. He geared himself up and double checked the buckles and clasps for safety, once he was ready, he just needed to actually get up to the hole. He pressed his lips together, then eyed up Arthur’s Feraligatr. “Hey commodore, would you mind if your Feraligatr gave me a boost?” He asked, then grinned, “please?”

((Shit guys, don't worry about me posting and stuff, uni is very hectic and I was away for a couple days, so honestly go on without me and assume Arthur is just following like a good little boy x3)) Arthur was rather... uneasy about confined spaces. even this cave was getting to him a bit. He liked being out in the open, by the sea, he was very much an outdoor person. So going into that teeny tiny hole made him a bit nervous. But still, he couldn't look bad in front of others, so he just kept quiet, for once, and watched them assemble the climbing equipment. Aah, all those ropes reminded him of his seafaring days...
He started when Terrance spoke to him. "What? Oh, er yeah, sure." the Commodore grinned, trying to regain some confidence. "How can I say no when you asked so nicely?" He cleared his throat and looked at the Feraligatr. "Steve, you know what to do." He jerked his thumb towards Terrance, Steve nodding in comprehension, before picking up Terrance and holding him up towards the exit. Arthur smirked slightly. "Be careful with him Steve, don't drop him or anything."

Terrance grinned at Arthur gratefully, “Thank you!” The warden withdrew Lisimba then, not wanting to risk the electric type getting swept by a flash flood, he made sure he had everything and walked to the edge of the pool; the Feraligatr moving into position to help him up. “Thanks pal.” He’d say to the water type as he picked him up so that he could grab onto the rock in the hole, once he had a good grip he told Feraligatr to let go. He dangled for a moment, then swung himself up and find decent foot holes and another crevice to get his hand onto. “Righto. First anchor.” He uttered, more to himself than anything. Terrance would use spring loaded cams he had to use for the anchors, they were simple and would do the trick for this climb; but he’d need to go and collect them later. He’d make sure he was comfortable before finding a suitable part of the rock face to feed in a cam and let the spiked edges spring out and latch into the rock. Terrance would then prepare the anchor for usage, feeding through the rope that would drop down to the others and would go all the way to the top as a safety line. He kept going for a short while, until he was at the top of the hole. It was too dark to really see what was there, but looking down at Rotom’s light was enough. “Ready! Come on up guys.” He’d be waiting there to help anyone the last few steps, he’d also get out three of his glow sticks and activate them; moving around the circumference of the hole and placing the sticks into the rocks to mark out the edge of the hole so they could get back to it later.

Soren glanced back over his shoulder, keeping a close eye on the rising water level. The streams flowing into the main cavern were swelling at a steady rate now and the pool threatened to overflow. The gym leader stood behind Arthur, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Alright Master Duncate, you're the first up, get into the harness and just use the safety line Terrance has set down - he'll help you should you get into trouble don't worry." Soren said as he handed the climbing gear to the younger man. Another glance back saw the first waves of water starting to spill over the rock lip of the pool. He gave Arthur a tight smile. "May want to be quick about it though, unless you fancy a swim."

Arthur looked around nervously, the cavern was slowly filling up with water, and it was slightly terrifying. He swallowed hard at the thought of being trapped in this cave, slowly drowning to death. He was a strong swimmer, but even he didn't fancy his chances around here. He jumped slightly when Soren touched his shoulder, taking him out of the despairing situations he was thinking up. Arthur nodded slowly at one Soren told him, taking it in, then carefully took the climbing gear.
"Right, yeah, cheers mate." He grinned towards Soren and hastily pulled on the harness, swearing softly when he got his leg caught, then speedily walking over to the hole and his Feraligatr. "Steve, lift me, my matey!" He addressed the Crocodile pokémon and was soon lifted up, grabbing hold of the safety rope Terrance had prepared then quickly making his ascent.

Arthur made his way up the rocky face and when he reached the last few paces Terrance would offer out his hand and go to grab Arthur's forearm and help him up the last part. Once Arthur was safely at the top, he'd grin at him, "Nicely done. Just move back a bit so the others have room to get up here." After that he'd lean over the side to call down to the others, "Next!"
