The mountain path wound out of the valley and the gravel slowly blended into grass. Tamsin smiled as the sun broke over the horizon. There was just a small hill between her and the forests, where a day of exploring awaited. She hadn't explored the forests as much as the mountains, but she considered the Northern Wilderness her home and wanted to know it like the back of her hand.
That's why what she saw surprised her so much. Below her, at the base of the hill, was a large building. Pokemon surrounded it, grazing in the field or splashing around in a large pool.
The sign that stood in front of her read "Webb's Breeders". How long had this been here? Tamsin had never been this way before, but surely a business like this would have been easier to find...
Never the less, Tamsin began her decent to the ranch that sat next to the tangled jungle. She should probably introduce herself.

Alice sighed for what must have been the tenth time in the last 5 minutes. The Hapiny she was trying to give a bath to would not sit still and was currently splashing bathwater onto her cardigan. Just great. Hapiny's may be cute, but they were certainly annoying. Nevertheless, she managed to finish washing the pink annoyance and dumped a towel onto it.
Getting up and brushing at her clothes in a vain attempt to right her appearance, she wondered why the Pokemon were so fidgety lately.
Walking out of the bathroom with Absol at her heels, she heard the Growlithe's barking outside. Weird, they were usually very quiet, perhaps they were alerting her to an intruder? Sharing a look with Absol, she cautiously made her way to the front door and stepped outside.

As she got closer Tamsin noticed more and more breeds of Pokemon. A group of Sandshrew were rolling around in the dirt and a Buizel splashed water at a Bellsprout as it bathed in the morning sun. The ranch was pretty picturesque. It would make a good postcard.
A young woman stepped out of the door, an Absol at her heels. Tamsin had never seen one before. It was beautiful.
"Hey there! What is this place?" Tamsin called out as she grew near, "The name's Tamsin."

Alice stared incredulously at the newcomer for a few seconds, then pointed to the rather obvious sign that was by the fence surrounding the little ranch. "Can't you read?" She asked coldly. Looking at the strangers surprised expression, she decided to explain herself.
"My names Alice Webb, and I am a breeder, hence the sign." She paused to cross her arms and pointedly look the redhead up and down. "And who are you to disturb my peaceful little ranch, and upset my growlithe?" This person didn't look threatening, but you could never be too careful, especially with how this person was eyeing her Absol...

(Ignus, you should probably get a new profile for your second character. It'll be easier to tell who you are.)
"Can't you read?"
Oh, a comedian. Terrific. Well, it was a dumb question, but still, Tamsin didn't know what to think of this Alice character. Shirt, tie and cardigan? She looked too old for a school girl...
"I'm Tamsin." She repeated bluntly, taking her own turn to be sarcastic. "I was heading to the Jungle and thought I'd stop by, find out what this place is. If you really want I can go."

Feeling a bit embarrassed at lashing out at a stranger for no real reason, she coughed awkwardly into her hand. "Err" was Alice's intelligent reply, she meant to apologise but couldn't seem to form the words. So she decided to change the topic. "If I were you I wouldn't go into the forest alone." She paused to push her glasses up her nose. "It's a big place, you could get lost easily."
That came out a bit cold as well, but due to an overactive Hapiny she wasn't in the best of moods, so this 'Tasmin' will have to deal with it.

"Huh, well, thanks, but I think I'll be ok." She said, glancing at the jungle that loomed at the top of the hill. She looked back to Alice, kind of smiled, and then had a good look around.
There were Pokemon everywhere. This situation wasn't going to get any less awkward soon, so Tamsin swung her satchel forward and pulled out a Pokeball. "I have Pokemon too." She replaced the ball and pulled her jacket tighter around her. "So how long has 'Webb's Breeders' been going. It seems a little out of the way, but you're not exactly short on business."

Wow, the situation had gotten awkward fast. After a painstaking silence, The newcomer started talking. "Yeah, um, we've been open for a good..." she paused to think and exhaled loudly, scratching the side of her head answered, "Around 25 years? this ranch was my parents, and I got it from them when they left."
Looking around at the variety of pokemon playing with each other, Alice let out a small smile. "I take in a few pokemon to breed, but mainly I take in abandoned pokemon." She let out a wry smile. "You'd be surprised at how many pokemon are just released and left to fend for themselves. It's sad really.
Alice locked her green eyes onto Tasmins. "So what brings you to this part of Kansai?" Alice asked, bending down to scratch a Houndour nicknamed 'Bitey' behind the ears.

"What brings me to the Northern Wilderness? Well, I kinda, you know, move around a lot. I like to explore. This place seemed a good place to roam."
Tamsin finally extended a hand to Alice. She seemed like an alright person, even if she did struggle at first impressions. That's when she saw it. There was a body slumped behind the building, just visible over Alice's shoulder. Tamsin paused, not sure what to think. Her eyes flittered between Alice and the body.
"Um, Alice, what the hell is that?"

A handshake? Well she wasn't expecting that, she thought she had blown her chances of any kind of civility during the first part of their conversation. Rather hesitantly, she grasped the hand offered to her and shook it firmly, smiling, before hearing her talk again.
Confused at the question, Alice followed Tamsins line of vision, not seeing anything out of the ordinary, then seeing what appeared to be a corpse and an Unfezant flapping hysterically. "What the fu-"

Tamsin quickly moved over to the body, but was quickly assured it was still alive. She could see it breathing. It was a woman, that much was obvious, but beyond the fact that she was blonde there was barely anything that defined her. Looks like Tamsin wouldn't get to the Jungle for a while.
"So, she's alive," Tamsin sighed, turning to Alice. "Bloody hell. I dunno, do you want to get one of your Pokemon to spray her with water or something, try and wake her up?"
Tamsin wasn't terrific at helping people.

"Do you want to get one of your Pokemon to spray her with water or something, try and wake her up?"
That sounded like a pretty good plan. Thinking Tamsin was completely serious she turned towards the small pond by her ranch. "Tony!" She shouted, out of the corner of her eye she caught the other conscience girl jump at the volume of her voice. As Tony, a young Marill, bounced over to them.
"Tony use Water Spout!" Alice yelled, pointing at the unconscience blonde on the ground. The Marill enthusiastically sprayed water onto the target, effectively soaking the girl and not waking her up. Oops.
"Oops" Alice vocalised. "Well that didn't work" Although, after a while, it seemed the girl was stirring.

Lumine felt dizzy, confused as the world around her began to come back into focus, noticing Ivan her Unfezant flapping its wings hysterically. She giggled a little, and said in a weak voice, "Ivan, you silly Unfezant...you look like you're insane." She decided to get up, but then a sharp pain forced her back down. "I think I twisted my ankle when I fell. Oh well...we best get going, eh Ivan?" She then noticed that the Unfezant wasn't looking at her, but at the two women who were looking at both of them.
Lumine noticed as well. "<sigh>Well, Ivan, looks like our search for Ignus will have to wait. Looks like we got a situation to deal with."
She then felt a surge of cold water splash her face, and that immediately caused her eyes to open slightly. "What was that all about, huh?" she said weakly.

Watching the body being soaked made Tamsin chuckle, but it seemed to irritate the huge bird that stood next to her. It flapped it's wings frantically, as if to warn the Marill off, but settled down as it's owner came around.
Huh. The woman seemed to be delusional, choking out something about Ivan or Igmas or something. Whatever, she was awake.
"Hello. You seem to have ended up unconscious on this young lady's private property. You might have to explain yourself or I'll call Officer Jenny."
She winked at Alice.

Okay, so Tamsin had changed her tune rather quickly. She was suddenly acting like an overprotective boyfriend, but obviously that wasn't true. Weird. And did she just wink at her? Alice shot her a creeped out look before turning her attention to the recently awoken girl.
Alice bent down to the girl and replied to her question with "Oh, that was just a bit of water, you appeared to be unconscience, so I sprayed water over you." Alice cocked her head to the side. "Are you alright?"
