Pokémon Kansai on DeviantART
Pokémon Kansai on tumblr
Rules
- No godmoding
- No autohits/autokills
- No single line posts
- No moving a player's character without permission
- No more than six Pokémon per trainer
- No superbly overpowered Pokémon
- No legendary Pokémon in any team
- No guns or weapons used to cause harm (pocket knives are acceptable for survival uses only)
- Please ask for any specialist items (eg. snag machine)
- At age 15 people get their Pokémon licenses
(10 seems a bit too young, I know it's canon in the games, but it isn't
really practical in role play)
You're welcome to use multiple characters in the same thread, provided you keep them all active.
Starters
Your character must have a starter in their team or reserves
Fire
Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Tepig, Embat
Water
Squirtle, Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup, Oshawott, Damplie
Grass
Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Treecko, Turtwig, Snivy, Sapler
Alternate
Eevee, Pichu
For Kansai starters, you must go to the Professor in character to receive one!
Pokémon don't work on levels here, instead they will be judged on how old the trainer is in comparison. Trainers begin their journey at 15 in Kansai, most manage to beat all 8 gyms by the age of 17, some go on to challenge the Elite Four at 18 and the lucky few manage to become Champions by 19. Characters can obviously be older and take on various jobs, including being a Gym Leader. There is no Elite Four in Kansai.
As for the amount of Pokémon a person can have, the maximum number on the active team is six and Pokémon have five moves each. However, because of the PC system you can have as many or as little Pokémon you desire! Just make it realistic towards your character and please list a few Pokémon from your box that your character may be most likely to take out.
If you've played the games, this should hopefully help you roughly estimate how strong your Pokémon will be. Evolution can be achieved through love and moments of power exertion, but be sensible between how long it takes between Pokémon evolutions - if uncertain have a chat with a moderator.
The Kansai Pokémon League
Like most regions in the Pokémon universe, Kansai has its very own Pokémon League. However, it is different to the conventional League system that is used in other regions.
In Kansai, there are five roaming gym leaders (meaning they're constantly travelling) that each have a badge relating to a certain statistic. So that means there is a gym leader relative to each stat; speed, special defence, special attack, defence and attack.
The badges from these leaders click together to create one large badge, and have a bar code on the back that shows the year in which the badge is obtained. The reason for this is because the challenge resets every year; so to prevent cheating, the bar code is installed. Once a trainer has all five gym badges, they are registered into a lottery; from this lottery trainers will battle it out to obtain the Kansai Pokémon Champion title. Those who lose, or aren't pulled through the lottery, must re challenge all five leaders and try again after the Championship.
Gym Leader Applications
For the time being gym leader applications are closed.
In order to become a gym leader, you must show experience of role play and must demonstrate this to the head admin Brooke Verity, which can be done through playing a character before creating a gym leader, and provide the proposed character profile. If rejected, fear not, you may simply not be ready yet; or the position has already been filled.
If you do get the role however, you are now held to be responsible of your gym. You must be active on the forum and engage in role play as often as you can. Should you ever get fed up of the responsibilities of a gym leader, then your character may retire and become a normal trainer; leaving the position open to a new potential candidate.
'Three Strikes' Policy
As part of any group, there are obviously rules around how you treat your peers and what you do. If you commit any of the following acts, be it on the deviantART page or on the forum, then you are subjecting yourself to one strike. If you get three strikes, then you will be banned from the group;
- Repetitive God Moding
This ought to speak for itself, however if a person has clearly God Moded and has not taken the advice/warning from a mod, then this would account for neglecting the staff and accounts towards one strike. Generally doing things that disrupt role play often that shouldn't really need to be happening, for example moving other characters without permission repetitively.
- Harassing a member
Remember, role play is not srs bsns. That means that if a character is particularly nasty to your character, that does not mean in any way that the player dislikes you. It's good to have drama in role play, that's what the entire thing is about! However, if you start harassing a member over something like this (or over anything, in fact) then it can get frustrating and create unwanted consequences. Harassing members results in one strike.
- Harassing an admin or mod
You get banned. Sorry, but our staff team don't need grief from you. Our staff team are experienced role players and have experience in running/moderating forums and groups like this; you don't have an excuse to be rude to them. If it's found you are unnecessarily bothering a mod or admin, you'll be going under the banhammer.
- Constant disregard of spelling or grammar
If English is your first language you are expected to use proper, standard English. Role playing is focused around reading and writing so it is vital that you can write properly so that others can understand what you're saying. Those who do not have English as a first language or you have a learning disability (eg dyslexia), obviously we'll be more relaxed around you; but please remember that this is an English group so you must try your best. Obviously little mistakes here and there are acceptable; but if a mod or admin asks you to tidy up your language and you ignore that, this constitutes one strike.
If you're unsure, please message Brooke Verity!
