Garchomp landed comfortably after the attack had been deployed, surpisingly; Garchomp’s can fly, I know, I was surprised when I found out too. However, Brooke’s Garchomp for the sake of it making sense will not fly, it seems silly. The Garchomp snarled as she snapped her head up at the Dragonite hovering high above; anticipating the next attack.
"Dragonite quick use Aerial Ace!"
The yellow dragon spun and plummeted downwards, ”Hold it steady Garchomp.” Brooke instructed and the blue shark like beast complied, bracing itself as it leaned forward to lower its center of gravity. Brooke took a deep breath, Garchomp would take a pretty nasty hit with this; but it would be worth it. They’d knock each other’s stamina down enough to really make this interesting.
It was almost a second too late when Brooke howled, ”Duck!” Garchomp watched that orange blur get closer and closer and just as it was about to hit Garchomp dropped and flattened itself against the floor. However, it was slightly too slow, half way through her duck Dragonite’s weight and force slammed her down. She growled viciously and whipped around, in time for Brooke to order ‘Crunch’. Regarding Garchomp was quick enough, she was going to clamp those large jaws around the tip of Dragonite’s tail and smash it into the ground.

Lorna smirked triumphantly when Garchomp failed to completely avoid Dragonite's attack and the large orang dragon slammed its opponent into the ground, but the blue shark-like dragon was far from beaten. It shook off the blue and whipped around with snake-bite speed as Brooke ordered a hasty 'Crunch'. The jaws clamped down on the very tip of Dragonite's tail with a steely snap. There wasn't much to grab on to, but it was enough and the effect was intstantaneous.
The sudden restraint turned the immense momentum of Dragonite's dive against him and when Garchomp clamped those steel jaws down on his tail it redirected the force towards the ground. The large orange dragon managed to twist in midair just before hitting the ground and slammed into the turf on his back leaving a deep rut in the soil. Dragonite bellowed and heaved himself back onto his feet. Lorna smiled grimly. "Alright enough evasion let's get down and dirty with it! Dragonite use Dragon Rush!"
A pale blue aura surrounded Dragonite as he charged towards Garchomp at full speed and launched itself at the other dragon, head bowed down to use his full body like a battering ram. Lorna watched carefully, ready to call out any adjustments to the attack. Her lips curved upwards into a grin. This is what being a trainer was all about, battling someone of equal caliber. After all a battle was only really enjoyable when your opponent made you sweat. "Steady - don't let her evade!"

Jack had completely forgotten about the camera. He still held it up, ready to capture the action, but all of his attention was on the epic brawl in front of him. Both champions had such control over the situation, and a huge presence on the battlefield, and the dragons were both so powerful that it was a toss-up as to who would be victorious.
Now he was no trainer, but watching a battle at this level was giving Jack that craving for his own fight. He thought back to his early days as a trainer, when he still really enjoyed seeking out others to compete against. But that was before he went into Journalism. Hey, that didn't mean he could never battle again. Maybe he'd have to seek one out, just for old time's sake.

Steve was in a state of suspended animation, he had never seen anything like this. The two trainers clearly loving every second as their Pokémon put their immense might into the battle. They were just so unbelievably strong and both Lorna and Brooke knew what moves to use and when to use them. It was making him both itch to battle and self-conscious about his own lack of experience when it came to Pokémon battles. He thought that he really had to start training his team up so that one day he could have the honour of battling either Lorna or Brooke on even ground.
The anticipation in the air was so thick that you could cut it with a knife, as Lorna’s Dragonite charged at Brooke’s Garchomp. He was secretly hoping for Brooke to win but at this moment Dragonite seemed to have the upper hand, it was just too quick.

Garchomp gave a haughty snort in relief as her attack had proven successful as she saw Dragonite slam down into the ground. However, her sense of smugness didn’t linger as she knew that the next attack was just around the corner. Brooke bit her lip when Lorna ordered for Dragonite to use Dragon Rush, a move that would undoubtedly do a horrific amount of damage to Garchomp, as the dragon move was super effective against it. She racked her brains for a solution, and seemed to find it quite quickly. With a single step forward and a sweeping motion of her arm Brooke ordered out for Garchomp to hold steady, she hoped this would work. Aerial Ace was a lucky shot, but this could be devastating if it didn’t work the way she planned. If her idea worked, Garchomp would take the hit but not take the full amount of damage, she had to rely on the strength of her dragon. ”Easy… Easy…” Brooke whispered in assurance to Garchomp as the blue dragon hunkered down low again, crossing its fins over its chest to act as a shield to deflect some of the power. Brooke drew in a sharp breath as Dragonite was just a few feet away, ”Jump!” She screamed, and the dragon complied. Garchomp sprang up, fins swiping outwards as Dragonite knocked into Garchomp’s back legs; the dragon was flipped upside down, angled straight back down at the dragon below it. ”Now! Use Poison Jab!” Brooke ordered, Garchomp’s right claw began to glow an eerie shade of purple as it began to descend upon Dragonite. The dragon had a pained look, Dragon Rush had done a great deal and the moment Garchomp would hit the ground she’d undoubtedly suffer for the damage that Dragonite had inflicted upon it. Hopefully, this move would end the battle, one way or another. (Time to bring it to a close I reckon )

((Yuss :3 I'm assuming we go for our superspecialawesome finale we PM'd about haha if not just use your epic administrative powers to edit)) Lorna was hard pressed not to crow out in victory when Dragonite's attack managed to connect with Garchomp despite the shark-like dragon's leap to avoid it. Its face screwed up in obvious pain but determination shone in her eyes as she was flipped midair and her forearm began glowing with a purple light. Lorna blanched at the sight. "Oh shi-""Now! Use Poison Jab!"There was no chance to dodge. Dragonite roared out his pain as Garchomp's glowing claws embedded into his shoulder on her way back down to earth. The large orange dragon staggered back, swaying for a few moments as it dropped to one knee, his scales taking on a sickly sheen as the poison spread through his body. Lorna looked across the field at Brooke and met her gaze with a knowing grin. It was now or never. Lorna stood straight and proud as she calmly looked at her Dragonite making a mental note to foot the bill for any damages their last ditch effort might make. She looked at the spectators and their referee. "Boys you might want to take cover - Dragonite hang in there - Use Hyper Beam, now!"The dragon looked like he was on his last legs but he managed to raise his head, jaws parting as a sphere of energy formed in his open maw rapidly growing in size and intensity. ((You know what to do ))

((Hell yeah! )) Brooke punched the air when Garchomp’s attack hit home, but she flinched when the dragon hit the ground, falling straight to the floor. It snarled at itself and forced itself to her feet, managing to stay on one knee – mirroring Dragonite. Garchomp breathed heavily, waiting for the next order. "Boys you might want to take cover-“ No way, she wouldn’t… ” Use Hyper Beam, now!” Dammit, she would!Brooke drew in a sharp breath through her teeth, ”Garchomp! Deflect with Draco Meteor!” It was her last hope, Lorna really knew how to get under Brooke’s skin in a battle. Dragonite’s hyper beam was growing larger and larger, ready for detonation, ”Hurry Garchomp” Brooke encouraged, balling her hands into fists. Garchomp panted as she watched the preparations for the impending attack, she licked her jaws and forced herself to her feet to stand tall. Garchomp raised her arms and bellowed to the four winds as the sky clouded over, pure energy swarming around the cyclone of black clouds above. Five shining blue orbs formed amongst the clouds and burst forth through the sky, clambering down upon the battlefield as Garchomp prepared another orb of energy from her mouth to try and counter the hyper beam. Releasing it, Brooke crouched down, this was going to do some serious damage; not only to the Pokémon, but also the surrounding area. All that was left now, was for the dust to clear to declare the winner.

((Not sure if I'm supposed to go next or not if I'm out of line someone give me a lil slap on the wrist and it'll be fixed haha)) Dragonite released his Hyper Beam just as the first blue orbs began falling onto the battlefield, a similar orb forming in Garchomp's mouth as she sent it streaking across the field at the large orange dragon. Lorna threw herself flat as Dragonite's Hyper Beam went blasting across the field, a bright white beam of concentrated energy that collided with Garchomp's Draco Meteor in the middle of the field. A ripple of energy expanded outwards, washing over the clearing and the people. Lorna was glad she'd hit the deck, the sheer weight behind the explosion was intense as was the noise. There was an almighty bang and everything was enveloped in a bright light and a cloud of dust and smoke was thrown upwards. Lorna coughed and set up, cringing as the smell of burnt grass and scorched earth...maaaaybe they'd overdone it just a tad. The dust began settling to reveal the field blackened and burned with a rather sizable crater in the middle where the attacks had collided. Lorna bit her lip when she saw Dragonite slumped over on her side of the field, unmoving with a dazed expression - clearly he wouldn't be fighting anymore today. The Johto veteran strained to see through the smoke trying to find out what had happened to their opponents. She stood up and brushed the dirt out of her choppy blonde hair. "Bloody hell - Brooke's going to kill me."

That was just too… Too… Steve’s brain struggled to come to grips with what had just happened. The power in that explosion was mind-blowing. If he hadn’t grabbed Growlithe and hit the deck then they would’ve both been thrown out of sight. As the dust cleared he could see Lorna’s Dragonite in a less-than-spectacular pile, almost a mirror image of the position Brooke’s Garchomp had assumed after the attacks had collided. Growlithe gave him a bark to remind him that he was still refereeing this match and needed to declare the winner, or indeed the lack thereof.
Steve struggled to his feet ”And–“ He began before he coughed up two lung’s full of dust.”And it’s a tie!” He managed finally. It had been a truly magnificent battle and an honour to watch. It had also gotten Steve and Growlithe ready and raring for a battle of their own. They'd have to get Brooke to give them some tips when this was over.

Jack finally exhaled. That was... phenomenal. He really needed to get tickets to the next Johto Championship Final.
He glanced up at Aipom who was still on his shoulders. "Hey, you wanna be able to shoot lasers like that?" he chuckled and Pom grinned back. "So, Seth," Jack said, turning to the trainer, "you still looking forward to that Dragon gym?

Seth was completely caught up in the battle, in awe of the sheer power each Pokemon held.
And yet...
"Hyper Beam and Draco Meteor... oh no!" Seth mumbled aloud just as the two attacks began to collide.
Seth stood in front of Quilava, who turned to protect the egg- it had taken quite a liking to it- and held on tight as the shock wave of the two attacks nearly tossed them over.
The dust began to settle, Seth waited in anticipation and soon realized... it was a tie.
"Fortree's bugs that was intense!!!" he couldn't help yelling, pumped up with adrenaline and raring for a battle of his own.
He turned to face Jack when he heard his name. "So, Seth," Jack said, "you still looking forward to that Dragon gym?"
"Am I ever! Although... I'll definately have to train harder before reaching any level like that!" As excited as Seth was, inside he began to doubt himself. If that was the power of the Dragons...
Reminding himself that these two combatants were Champions, Seth felt his confidence rise again. "Man, is there a place nearby with a lot of trainers? I want to battle so bad right now!" Seth felt a tug at his shirt and he looked down to see Quilava holding the egg up. It gave a few wiggly movements and Seth remembered to log it down.
(I don't know when you want the egg to hatch, so I'm just keeping up on the subplot ;P )

(Hold on to the egg for now, I want it around for a few more threads if that's okay ) Brooke covered her head as the swathes of dust and mud flew up from the impact of the attack, okay, maybe they over did it a little but at least they provided a good show! Once the area had settled Brooke stood in time to see both Pokémon knocked out on the field, she gasped when Steve announced, ”And it’s a tie!” Part of her was upset she didn't win, but hey that was just the way battles went. Dragonite and Lorna were equals when it came to a battle like this, and Brooke wasn't complaining about a tie! She walked over to Garchomp and knelt down beside her, Gabite and Axew rushed out onto the field as well. "You did a great job Garchomp, I'm so proud of you." Brooke smiled, running her hand affectionately over the dragon's head. Gabite nudged his mother's side and she let out a groan, Brooke placed a hand on Gabite's fin to keep him at bay, "Easy, she'll ache after a hit like that, but don't worry, we'll get her fit and well again." Brooke drew Garchomp's Pokéball and returned the dragon to it, she smiled fondly at the ball before desizing it and placing it back into her pocket. She stood and assured the two little dragons that Garchomp would be okay, and that they would become strong like her one day, Gabite and Axew cried happily at the thought. Charizard just grunted from the side of the field when Brooke reapproached, making sure to go to Lorna first to shake her hand, "That was an intense battle! Thank you Lorna. I hope Dragonite's okay." "So, Seth, you still looking forward to that Dragon gym?" She heard Jack say, and grinned, "Claire isn't as strong as us, so don't panic too much. She may be able to hold her own against the Elite Four, but if you have a strong Ice type then you'll be smacking her down without a problem I can promise you that." "Man, is there a place nearby with a lot of trainers? I want to battle so bad right now!" Charizard was taking Gabite and Axew away to continue their training elsewhere in the lab's grounds as Brooke considered a place for Seth to go. "Well, I'm heading into the town now to go to the Pokémon Centre. I'm sure if you came with me then you'll meet some trainers there who're willing to battle, there's a battlefield out the back." Brooke informed him as she turned to go into town.

Lorna couldn't help it - as soon as Steve announced a tie she burst into a gale of laughter. She sat down next to her fallen Dragonite and patted his spiked head. He made an odd noise sort of half-way between a growl and a groan. "Aw you big brute, that was a great battle, good job!"
She quickly withdrew the fallen dragon and stood as Brooke walked over and shook her hand. "Hey you too - don't worry about this big lump he'll be fine once I get him to the Centre."
She heard Seth and Jack talking and gave this a lazy smile as she fell in step next to Brooke. "Oh you guys should come, I'd like to see your battling technique Seth - that way we can give you some pointers before you go face Claire! Though Brooke's technique is undoubtedly the best." she grinned before turning to Brooke. "Send me the bill for the field repairs would you? It'll ease my conscience."
Funny thing was the Johto veteran looked anything but apologetic.

(got it! no problem ) Seth was ecstatic about following the Champions to a place to challenge people, but had to pause. "Um, do you still want us to hold on to the egg? I won't let Quilava battle while holding it, but I wouldn't want to take it off the lab's grounds if you'd rather keep it here." He turned to Jack as well, and made a funny grin. "Y'know, you should snap a photo of these Champs while they're together. Actually, you should tag along! Maybe we could double battle or something."

"... Though Brooke's technique is undoubtedly the best." Brooke turned just as Lorna spoke to her, "Send me the bill for the field repairs would you? It'll ease my conscience." She chuckled and patted Lorna on the shoulder, "It's all good, we can get some of the Grass Pokémon working on it and they'll have it fixed in no time." She bit her bottom lip with a cheeky smile, "Me? Best battling technique? I beg to differ."
"Um, do you still want us to hold on to the egg? I won't let Quilava battle while holding it, but I wouldn't want to take it off the lab's grounds if you'd rather keep it here."
Seth had a good point, one she hadn't really considered until now. "If you would, I'd really like it if you could hang on to the egg on your travels, it's why I gave you the notebook. Don't worry about having Quilava hold it the entire time, just as long as it's with a nice warm body it shouldn't matter, if I'm around I'll hang on to it if you're battling and so forth. Just don't drop it and we'll be good!" Brooke laughed, before beginning to lead the way into the town.
(Exit post!)
