Name: Ajax (He never gives anyone his last name or even his real first name. He's a poacher and needs to remain fairly anonymous.)
Age: 29
Gender: male
Height: 6' 2"
Physical Description:
Ajax is stocky and powerfully-built, though not particularly handsome. He has short, dark, somewhat spiky brown hair and a short goatee of the same color. His right eye is green and his left is a milky-white. He's blind in his left eye, a remnant from a particularly powerful electric attack that he was lucky to survive. Instead of having the eye sewed shut or wearing a patch, he chooses thick, dark sunglasses to cover his odd eye and protect it from light; he found the prospect of a poacher wearing an eye patch much too cliche for his tastes, and rather silly to boot.
He favors brown dusters and trench coats for the ease of concealing pokeballs, various items, and the small-caliber handgun he has on him at all times for protection. He generally wears sturdy steel-toed boots, thick jeans, and a tee shirt or long-sleeved shirt depending upon the weather. He wears thick gloves to protect his hands in the event he has to just grab a Pokemon and run, though he likes to think he's got a bit more finesse than that. Sometimes he'll throw on a beat-up old brown fedora like his childhood hero, the fictional fossil trainer Canalave Jones.
Personality:
Ajax is... brusque, selfish, rather greedy... well in a few words, he isn't sparkles and rainbows. Ajax is well-acquainted with the wrong side of the law and he doesn't particularly care that he's breaking the law and people get hurt, so long as he gets what he wants. About the only living things that get any affection from him are his Pokemon, and he claims it's because they make money for him. He is fluent in sarcasm and profanity. While he doesn't go out of his way to hurt people, if they're in his way, he has no qualms about it. He feels no remorse for the Pokemon he catches (or steals) to sell.
He's rather anti-social. Well, a lot anti-social; he doesn't like people, and he really doesn't like people who he sees as weaker or less than him. He was raised in a rich family, and that mindset never quite left him.
He has shot another human being on more than once occasion, and was surprised that it didn't affect him at all. He doesn't know if the people he shot survived and he doesn't particularly care. Because money.
He doesn't affiliate himself directly with any criminal organization, preferring instead to make contacts within each one and see what he can get out of them. People are to be used and discarded when their usefulness has run its course. He doesn't think of himself as a rebel or the pinnacle of evil; he's a businessman, nothing more than that.
History:
He was raised in a very rich family. Like- for his tenth birthday, he was given a Larvitar, and for his eleventh, a female Eevee. That kind of rich. He was coddled and pampered and taught that he was so much better than anyone else for the first eighteen years of his life.
Then when he turned eighteen, his parents kicked him out and told him to make his own way in the world. Without a penny to his name, he began travelling and stomping the bejeezus out of other trainers whose Pokemon weren't as strong as his. He'd been training his Pokemon and using items on them as well. He caught a Poochyena and a Pidgey in his travels.
Eventually, though, he came to realize that even beating trainers and taking their money wasn't enough to support the lifestyle he was used to. He stole and sold his first Pokemon, a strangely-colored Rattata, when he was twenty years old, and hasn't looked back since.
When he was twenty-four, he was trying to wrangle a strangely-colored Pikachu who was guarding its nest, and the Pikachu attacked him directly, ruining and blinding his life eye and putting him in the hospital for weeks. He still occasionally gets headaches and treats them by drinking until he passes out. He's probably going to die of cirrhosis before he's forty.
A little more than a year ago, he tracked down what seemed like an incredibly strong, large wild Raichu, with the intention of selling it. When he found out it had been taught several strong moves, he added it to his team of usual Pokemon instead.
After hearing about the failed Safari game at Kansai, he decided it would be a new place to try out, see what he could get from it. He has no definite home, instead living out of hotels and a battered old satchel.
Home Region/Town: Kanto/Saffron
Pokemon League Achievements: none, though he may have gotten some Kanto league badges under his given name.
Training Specialties: He doesn't really have any specialties; if he sees a weakness in his team, he strives to cover it.
Profession: Poacher
Current Residence: no current residence? (new arrival, I... don't know where he's going to end up.)
Pokemon Team:
Mango
Adamant M Tyranitar
Moves: Dragon Claw, Iron Tail, Fire Fang, Earthquake, Crunch
Mango was Ajax's first Pokemon, a gift from his parents on his tenth birthday. He takes after Ajax in that he's coarse and rather unsociable, but unlike Ajax, Mango seems to take some sick pleasure in causing others pain.
Cleo
Modest F Espeon
Moves: Attract, Shadow Ball, Psychic, Swift, Double Team
Cleo is Ajax's only female Pokemon, a birthday gift from his parents when he was 11. She's very laid-back, very relaxed, and also... rather enamored with Ajax. She isn't afraid to use her feminine wiles to get what she wants, especially from Buck.
Buck
Naughty M Mightyena
Moves: Dig, Bite, Swagger, Take Down, Roar
Buck is... well he would follow Cleo anywhere. Outside of Cleo and Ajax, though, Buck is a bit of a jerk. He loves playing tricks or otherwise terrorizing everyone else, especially Ajax's other Pokemon, since he knows Ajax won't let his Pokemon fight outside of training.
Yeagar
Jolly M Pidgeot
Moves: Fly, Steel Wing, Roost, Whirlwind, Sand Attack
Yeagar is hardworking and very optimistic, overall a pretty nice guy. It's hard to catch him in a bad mood.
Lai
Brave M Raichu
Moves: Volt Tackle, Substitute, Focus Punch, Thunderpunch, Iron Tail
Lai was actually a Pokemon Ajax poached, though it was a Raichu released by its previous trainer. Their working relationship is... still rather difficult. Lai is aware of what Ajax does and it trying to come to terms with the fact that he is fighting on the wrong side of the law. Ajax treats him well, but Lai still doesn't always listen to what Ajax tells him to do. He's rather aloof around the other Pokemon. Lai is easily one and a half times the size of a regular Raichu.
Known Reserves: none; whatever he isn't going to use, he sells.
