(That's fine, I was gone for some time...and its a Hydro Cannon that did it, much more powerful than a Hydro Pump Ignus just stood there amidst the twisted destroyed remains, his expression one of surprise, then turned to Baron, who just stood there with him surrounded by stunned Flygon and Vibrava, and said in a small voice, "Heh...heheheh...guess we went a little overboard, eh Baron?" The Blastoise looked around from the fainted Flygon and Vibrava to the twisted structure that used to be the tower, then back to Ignus, his expression one of scolding. Ignus sighed, and then saw Brooke glaring daggers at him. "What in Kansai did you do?! How are we supposed to identify who owned the tower now?"Dang it...I messed up, big time! Now what? How am I supposed to tell her why I'm here if she's mad at me for going out of hand like this? Stupid, stupid, stupid Ignus! Oh man, oh man, oh man...what do I do now!? Ignus stood there, his head in his hands, trying to get a hold of himself, hyperventilating while clutching his chest, until Baron put a giant hand on his shoulder, calming him down. Ignus exhaled deeply, and was about to open his mouth when he saw Tamsin and Seth lying nearby, and noticed Seth looking a little ill. "No..." Ignus then ran over to Seth and Tamsin. "Tamsin, Seth, are you two okay? Sorry about that...Seth? You okay?" He then turned to look at Brooke, saying with a serious look on his face. "Brooke, I'll explain everything later, and apologize for my sudden actions today, but right now I think we have a much more serious problem here. Seth doesn't look well..."

Lorna very nearly jumped out of her skin when an explosion ripped through the air, sending an unpleasant shockwave of pain lancing through the biologist's head - her ears were still ringing from the frequency burst she'd detected on her radar and the pressure wave from the blast had bumped that up to an instant headache. "What the fu-"
She didn't have time to finish her cursing, at least not out loud as she took off running after Brooke. They came up to the base of the tower - or what was left of it and saw the others, Ignus and his Blastoise surrounded by stunned pokemon. Lorna winced as Brooke made her exasperation known, admittedly she wasn't without cause. there was very little left in the way of evidence now to show who had constructed the tower.
The pokemon biologist cautiously made her way to a few of the Vibrava who were stirring. They looked up at her buzzing and chirping dazedly, but certainly lacking the aggression they'd shown earlier. That was a good sign. Lorna made her way to the twisted metal base of the tower, carefully picking through the wreckage, swearing whenever a sharp piece of metal caught on her clothing or cut her hands. "Damn, I can't even find the transceiver or broadcasting equipment - hell I can't find technical equipment of any kind in this lot!"
She swore again when she noticed an ailing Seth and immediately started climbing debris to try and get to him. She shouldered her way past Ignus and placed a hand on Seth's shoulder "Oh this just keeps getting better and better! Seth what's wrong, are you alright?"

(just to be clear Ignus, this isn't anything you did, Seth has an illness that's prevented him from getting into Ranger school for a while, and it's just coming up again, it's just basically introducing it briefly ) Seth's head swam as he felt his chest tightening, he couldn't breathe without wheezing now. Oh no... no not now...!He felt his heartbeat race in panic as he began to black out. He hadn't had an attack like this in a while, he was so sure it had finally stopped! "Weavile!!" The black and red Pokemon jumped off of Ignus' shoulder next to her ailing trainer and slashed open a pocket of his backpack, catching a small inhaler that fell out. Weavile held to to Seth's open mouth and he took it weakly, having to be helped in pushing the small button on the top as he inhaled the medicine. After three deep inhales, Seth's chest compressions finally ceased and he sat up, dizzy. "Thanks Weavile... you did real well," he said affectionately while giving it a pat on the head. When he noticed everyone looking at him, he turned red. "Sorry about that," he said, his brow furrowing. "I've been having these since I was a kid. It's the one thing that's kept me out of Ranger School." He held up the inhaler. "Not to worry though, each of my team knows how to use this, even Unfezant. It's small enough to fit in his beak. That way if I'm out alone I can still survive." Seth sat back, letting the embarrassment slide over before looking up at everyone. "I'm okay now. What just happened anyway? I just saw a bright light and heard an explosion. Is everyone okay? How's Tamsin?"

(I know, I know...just to be clear, Ignus tends to panic when he overdoes it in battle...some problem he has or something Anyways...) Ignus almost yelped when Seth's Weavile jumped off of his shoulder and slashed open the Ranger's backpack to grab a small inhaler and help Seth inhale the medicine. I see...he had an illness...I'm not at fault... "Ah, well, it's good to see you're okay...heheheh" Ignus scratched the back of his head, laughing nervously. He then noticed that Seth asked if Tamsin was okay. Ignus looked over at the red-haired Gym Leader, kneeled down in front of her, and said, "Ummm...Ms. Shale, are you okay? If you can hear any of us, please say something..." Ignus could feel the intent from Lorna and Brooke coming down on him, and without hesitating, wrenched the binoculars out of his trenchcoat, and held it out in front of Lorna, saying, "Before you say anything about this being my fault, here. These binoculars take pictures of everything I see when I look through them. I took pictures of the steel spire at every single angle before I got attacked. You can look at the pictures and see if you can make heads or tails of it, because I can't!" Ignus was in a very panicked state right now, and he kept trying to keep up his composure.

((sorry if I'm out of turn, just felt this would help keep things going so we can wrap it up))
Lorna arched an eyebrow as she accepted the binoculars. The boy seemed very panicked, though that was understandable - Brooke could be downright scary when she was...displeased. She skimmed through a couple of the pictures before handing the device to Brooke. "Hn this will only do so much, I still won't be able to find out what bandwidth they were using, or any of the fine details about that broadcast signal - the only information I have is the scant few readings I picked up from that thrice damned tower with my now ruined radar."
The biologist took a deep breath before turning to Brooke, letting Seth and Tamsin recover properly. She pointed to the specialized binoculars she'd passed to the pokemon professor. "What do you think, can you glean anything from those photographs? If you wanted to take the others back to the lab and work on those images I can stay here and see if I can't find anything of value in the wreckage. If anybody comes along looking for retribution Dragonite will be more than enough defense."

The headache was back. Terrific. But hey, so were Brooke and Lorna, so swings and roundabouts. Tamsin blinked hard and got to her feets. "I'm good, I'm good. But the tower? How does a beam of water even...?" She trailed off.
There was just rubble. If Seth hadn't yelled out to her she could have been a lot worse off. She smiled at the kid. He really would be a great Ranger.

(Been a while since the last post...guess I'll go. Just wondering when we're gonna wrap this up...just wondering...)
Ignus sighed miserably, still feeling Brooke's anger upon his being, and looking up to the sky, suddenly felt something click in his mind: That's right...I almost forgot. It's a few weeks from today...then again, there's the parade that I have to prepare for...but still. He then turned to look at Brooke, the Pokemon Professor still glaring at him, Ignus looking not at all fazed. He was getting used to being glared at, and he then sighed, walking towards the ruins that used to be the transmission tower, his Blastoise Baron following him obediently. Turning around to face all of them, he then proceeded to sit down cross-legged, took out his briefcase, opened it to look at his stuff, his eyes wandering towards all the tools of his trade, from the compass to the pickaxe he kept for mining purposes. He sighed, and taking out his compass, revealed a small metal door, which he opened, his eyes narrowing. Inside was an old Pokeball, the red and white paint worn out and scratched. Ignus knew what it was, and he sighed with relief as he took the old capsule in his hand, seeing that the explosion didn't knock it out and damage it even further. Still feeling Brooke's glare broke him out of his trance. His eye twitching, he looked up from the briefcase at her, and said as calmly as possible, "You do realize that staying mad at me isn't going to yield any good results from this, okay? If you want..." Ignus didn't even hesitate as he said while pointing at his scar above his right eye, his blue eyes showing seriousness, "Then go ahead and give me yet another reminder of my screwup."
(Yeah...Ignus is a little irritated and upset right now...)

(Aaah yes, I totally didn't forget about this >< I'll literally just wrap this up now.)
The scar on Ignus' forehead meant nothing to Brooke, she didn't know the story behind it - why would she? Instead she scoffed at his words, "Don't give me the martyr act Ignus." She turned to the rest of the group, "Right everyone, let's pack up. Seth, you're staying with me again tonight, I wanna keep an eye on you to make sure you're okay. Everyone else? Well, thanks for helping. I'll send out a team tomorrow to come and investigate the ruins to see if they can scrounge anything, alright? Okay." With that, Brooke tossed out a Pokeball and released her Charizard who crouched low to allow his trainer to climb up on his back. She would wait for the others to mount up on their Pokemon before heading back towards Maple Town.

(This is the last post I'll make in this thread, so I can focus on the parade. Ignus sighed deeply, looking up at the sky, his bright blue eyes showing irritation, not at the others, but himself for bringing up the annoying habit of leaving the group just to think and act alone. Staring down at the Pokeball, his eyes closed, placed the Pokeball back in its little secret compartment, closed up the suitcase, and looked at Baron, who shared his feelings about the whole incident, and taking out Baron's Pokeball, had the Blastoise return in a flash of red light. Then, taking out another Pokeball, released Marcus, the Hydreigon looking at him questioningly. "I'm fine Marcus...I just need some quiet time alone, if that's possible." Ignus then looked over at everyone, trying to stay positive, and smiling weakly, bowed politely, saying, "Well, everyone, I humbly apologize for making a dead end in this investigation. In all honesty, the Pokemon are alright, and for me, that's all that matters. Come on, Marcus, let's head back." The Hydreigon lowered its heads to allow the Pokemon Explorer on its back, while he put his hat on low over his eyes. "Oh, and Professor, I'm looking forward to the parade tomorrow. Make sure you and your Pokemon get plenty of rest. The same to all of you."Ignus then patted Marcus' back, and the Hydreigon stretched its wings and took off, flying up over the treeline and out of sight, Ignus looking down at the others as they grew smaller the higher they climbed. I hope all of you can forgive me...but there's a reason why I had to destroy it...if you knew my story, then maybe you would understand my reasons a little more...and hopefully, understand the pain I've been through...Ignus felt a small tear run down his cheek, then brushed it off with his sleeve as he and Marcus set off in the direction of Maple Town, trying very hard not to look back at the jungle he left behind in a hurry.

Lorna shook her head and resisted the urge to snort. Clearly something terrible had occured in Ignus' past, but right now that wasn't an excuse to be bull-headed and trigger happy. She was glad that the pokemon were safe and that was the important, but they were at a dead end. Every piece of broadcasting equipment from the tower had been fried and would be absolutely useless in an investigation that could apprehend the culprits before the same thing happened elsewhere.
She pulled out Dragonite's pokeball and tossed it skyward, the large orange dragon appearing in a bright flash of light. Dragonite lowered himself down to let Lorna climb onto his back. She glanced over at Brooke who had already mounted her Charizard. "Brooke if you want my help or you learn anything give me a call would ya?" she said. "This has got me rattled."
and by rattled she meant pissed off beyond belief.
She felt the air ripple next to her as Ignus took off. She looked after the young man and shook her head. He was strong, there was no doubt, but he had some serious growing up to do. She didn't doubt that whatever had happened was terrible and painful for him, but hopefully he'd learn to cope better in time. She looked over at Brooke again and shrugged. "I've got to get back to my base camp to pack up the rest of my gear - I'll see you all at the parade tomorrow."
She squeezed her heels against Dragonite's flanks and the pokemon flapped his wings, taking off towards the north at a blinding speed that only a dragon could muster
((aaaand exeunt!))
