It was far darker in the dense, overgrown jungle. Corkwood practically pulsed with life, with hundreds of wild Pokemon moving in the shadows at the side of the path. At some point Tamsin would venture of the beaten track and into the deep foliage, but until she new her way around the basics she'd stay safe.
There was a low humming noise, and Tamsin assumed there must be a Combee hive or a tree of Beedrill somewhere. Mentally she noted it down to return to it at a later date. She'd been tempted to catch a Combee after she saw how strong Vespiqueens can be. They don't look it, but they sure can take a beating.
But that would have to wait. Today she was seeking out a certain clearing in the jungle. There were rumours that a Totem had been crafted to signpost the entrance to a cave under the forest floor that teemed with ghost types.
The path wound through the trees, but the humming continued. As Tamsin pushed deeper into the jungle it became louder and louder. She couldn't see where it was coming from, but it became so loud that Tamsin couldn't even think. She staggered to the floor, trying to get her energy back on her hands and knees but she felt sick. It was so loud now that she could feel it. It pressed in on her like a wall. There was movement. Some diamond shaped wings flittered around her. Tamsin whited out.

(Skipping ahead a little, had the rendevouz now in the jungle Everyone had arrived bright and early the next morning for the trip into the jungle to investigate the problem with the Vibrava. Brooke was sat upon the back of her Charizard, who led the way towards the jungle; flying over with ease as Brooke watched to see if there was any sign of Vibrava. Charizard grunted as they flew over a clearing, and steadied himself into a slow circle, Brooke hung on as she peered down through a pair of binoculars and through a gap in the trees she was saw she saw the figure of a person. She waved a hand in the air to signal those around her to land in the clearing; from there they would investigate on foot. Charizard began a steady descent down before landing carefully in the middle of the clearing, the orange dragon like Pokémon glared around to make sure everything was alright as Brooke tossed out another Pokéball, they would need to be prepared on this journey and a party of Pokémon to join them was sensible. A flash of light shone and a stout pink and purple Pokémon snorted as the light faded, Brooke’s Grumpig, “I’ll be needing you on hand if anything gets nasty.” Brooke smiled, and the pig Pokémon nodded eagerly. She knew the Psychic type would come in handy, the use of a quick psychic attack could hold the Vibrava steady whilst they tried to figure things out. Whilst the others were landing, Brooke headed into the brush, Charizard and Grumpig in tow as she went to look for the person she was sure she saw. She searched around for a little while and then amongst the bushes she saw a flash of red hair, “There!” She gasped, she ran over and stopped a few feet short. Vibrava, only one, easy to deal with. She nodded to Grumpig, who knew exactly what to do, he raised his hands and his eyes and the gems on his forehead glowed a light blue. The Vibrava was subdued easily as Brooke notioned to Charizard to knock it out with a quick Brick Break. Grumpig then carefully placed the Vibrava on the ground and kept a wary eye on it as Charizard gently held up Tamsin in his arms. “Gracious! Tamsin Shale!” She gasped, then turned her head back to the clearing, “Everyone! Over here!”

(I apologize if I'm jumping in here, but I haven't been getting a reply from my post from Vincent, so I'm gonna fast-forward to the next morning. Hope it's alright.)
Ignus flew over the jungle treetops riding his Hydreigon Marcus, the dragon Pokemon turning one of its small heads to stare at its Trainer, Ignus himself trying to hide his tired face underneath his hat. That kid...he wasted my time...now, I'm cranky... He then noticed a Charizard setting down in a nearby clearing, Marcus looking on with his main head, the other two looking around.
"Easy, Marcus," Ignus said in a tired voice, "There are Vibrava everywhere. You'll be an easy target for them. Let's set down in another clearing nearby." The three-headed dragon Pokemon nodded its main head in agreement, and the two set down near the Charizard's location, Ignus returning Marcus to his Dusk Ball, adjusting his eyes to the morning sun. "Woo...if I had known it would be this bright, I would've brought sunglasses so as not to get the glare in my eyes. Oh well...another price I have to pay for staying up late. <sigh>Things just haven't been going my way..."
He then took out the Nest Ball from his sash, and tossing it into the air, released Arashi, his Zebstrika, the zebra Pokemon not looking very awake. "Look, Arashi," Ignus said, his Zebstrika looking at him sternly, "I know this may be a little much asking it from you, but we need to find Ms. Brooke as soon as possible. So, can you give me a lift?" The zebra Pokemon could tell that his Trainer was just as tired as he was, and he complied so as not to get on Ignus' bad side. Ignus got onto Arashi's back, and pointed in the direction he saw the Charizard land. "Let's head that way for now. Hopefully we'll find the others..."
Arashi nodded his head, and he immediately took off, Ignus holding onto Arashi's spikes for dear life.
He then noticed a Grumpig as they ran past, and immediately, he grabbed ahold of Arashi's neck fur, and pointed towards where he saw the pig Pokemon. But before Arashi could move, his ears pricked a few times, and looking around, nudged his head against Ignus, him saying, "I know Arashi..." as they were surrounded by Vibrava, the Pokemon making weird humming noises with their wings. He then smirked, saying, "We've gotta clean house." He then got off Arashi's back, which was already prickling with electricity.
"Remember Arashi: don't overcook any of them." he said before Arashi let out a battle cry and immediately charged at the Vibrava, flames enveloping him. "Arashi, Flame Charge!"

Tamsin blinked hard. It had only felt like an instant, but instead of being on the jungle floor she was being carried away in the arms of a dragon. She could see a woman in front of her, but not her face, and the sounds of roaring flames was audible from not far away. A headache stung the back of her brain.
The humming continued, but was far quieter than before. Tamsin tried to move, but another wave of nausea hit her and she lay back into the arms as the Charizard carried her away.
"Hey," she choked out to the woman in front of her, "what happened?"

"Hey...Arashi," said Ignus, his head turning towards a random direction, the Zebstrika making loud noises as the Vibrava fled, apparently not interested in fighting. "Did you hear that?" The zebra Pokemon turned its head, its ears pricking a few times, and nodded immediately. "Let's get going. Hopefully we can catch up with them." Ignus then took off, Arashi not too far behind. Before long, he noticed Ms. Brooke with a Charizard and a Grumpig, the fire dragon Pokemon carrying a woman with red hair.
He then scratched his head in a friendly gesture. "Uh, hello again Ms. Brooke. May I ask as to who your Charizard is carrying?"

((Sorry I'm late, I was on my way home from a little vacation to the city XD ))
Lorna swore as Dragonite pulled another heartstopping dive to avoid a jet of flames from the mouth of a Flygon hellbent on roasting them alive. The pokemon biologist had awoken bright and early, grabbing her gear, specifically a tracking device used to find the pokemon she tagged with radio collars into her satchel and headed out into the wilds to try and meet up with Brooke however before she found the professor she located a Flygon she'd given a collar two just last month. Deciding a quick detour was in order she tracked down the Flygon only to have the green dragon-type come hurtling out of the trees with an aggressive shriek
Hence the current situation of flying for their lives.
Lorna twisted around so that she was sitting backwards on Dragonite's back and studied the agitated Flygon carefully. It didn't seem to be protecting any young and as this was a female it wouldn't be particularly inclined for a territorial attack. Lorna flattened herself down on her partner's scaley back as another fireball went zooming overhead. Carefully she rolled over and as she did so she spotted a very familiar Charizard down in a clearing. "Quick Dragonite, down in that clearing!"
Lorna clung to the large dragon's neck as he angled his wings and plummeted towards earth in a steep dive. He flared his wings at the last moment and evened out his flight barely a foot above the ground. If Lorna hadn't been used to her pokemon's aerial acrobatics she would've passed out from the G-forces. The Flygon hissed and growled a little before turning around and flying off in the direction it had come. Lorna breathed a sigh of relief and slid down from Dragonite's back, jogging over to the little group. Her eyebrows shot up when she saw Tamsin Shale in Charizard's arms looking quite green around the gills. Lorna smiled grimly as she brushed off soot from her old denim jacket "Huh looks like I wasn't the only one who ran into some problems."

They were heading back towards the clearing, and had just emerged when Tamsin came around, "Hey, what happened?"
Brooke turned and gestured for Charizard to stop, "Hey there Tamsin, it's Brooke here, Professor from Maple Town? We heard some news that the Vibrava around here have been behaving erratically, which is why we came to look. It seems they got you somehow... Are you hurt? Can you walk?" She asked, taking a step towards Charizard and placing a hand on his shoulder, the dragon began to gently ease Tamsin down, but still held her if she was woozy.
"Uh, hello again Ms. Brooke. May I ask as to who your Charizard is carrying?"
"Oh! Hello again Ignus." She turned to make sure Tamsin was doing alright, "This is Tamsin Shale, she's one of the roaming Gym Leaders here in Kansai. Defence, right?" She queried, then looked up as the cries of a Flygon caught her attention. There Lorna and Dragonite artfully avoided the attack of the green ground Pokémon, what in Kansai was going on here? When Lorna landed, Brooke gave her a concerned look, "Something really bad's happening here... Be on guard."

Seth had been well-rested and found himself following Brooke, Lorna, Ignus and perhaps a few others along the back of his Unfezant. He flew low, so as to keep more out of the sight of any Vibrava or Flygon, but he kept Weavile on his back just in case one should appear.
He saw Brooke descend a ways ahead, and he followed quickly. Unfezant nose-dived down at the ground and Seth jumped off gracefully before Unfezant flew back above him.
When he saw someone down, he ran towards them. "Hey, what happened?" He heard Brooke explain that the person in front of him was a Gym Leader, and he paused. He hadn't realized that maybe there were Gym Leaders in Kansai.
Immediately going into Ranger mode, amateur as it was, he felt the Gym Leader's head. No feverish spike, so it hadn't been illness. "What's the last thing you remember? What caused you to fall?" he asked gently but firmly.

It had been a while since Tamsin had seen Professor Brooke Verity. Just over a year in fact, as she'd been one of the people at the announcement ceremony for the Roaming Leaders. Had it really been that long already?
"Are you hurt? Can you walk?" "What's the last thing you remember? What caused you to fall?" So many questions. The Charizard lowered Tamsin to her feet, and she took a step forward tentatively.
"Yeah, looks like I'll be fine." Tamsin smiled. "Cheers." she said, nodding to the dragon. "And there was some kind of noise. Like, a buzzing. It just, made me shut down. But I'm good now." She explained, turning to the young man who she didn't recognise.
In the moment she was being set down another person entered the clearing, but Tamsin was too busy looking through her satchel for an aspirin to pay much attention. Brooke had said Vibrava were the problem. That would explain the diamond shaped wings. But what type were they? Dragon? Bug? Flying? If it was dragon or flying then her best bet was to have Cloyster take it down with an Ice Beam, but if it was bug...
Lorna McKinley dropped from above, joining the others in the clearing. Tamsin had met her a few times in and around the Northern Wilderness when she'd been doing field research. She also noticed the guy that Brooke had been talking to. Ignus Draco. That guy had championed pretty much every region. She didn't know he was in Kansai. Three champions and this kid. They'd formed a neat little Justice League.

Ignus sighed, seeing that the roaming Gym Leader was alright. He then held out his hand, saying, "Well, seeing as how this is our first time meeting each other...I am Ignus Draco. It's nice to meet you, Ms. Shale." He then looked towards Seth and Lorna, who had just joined them. He nodded to both of them, and continued.
"Well seeing as how Vibrava are the problem around here...most odd...I've heard of Vibrava nests being real, but I've never expected them to attack anyone entering their territory. How...unusual..." He then removed a Pokeball from his sash, after returning Arashi to his own, and tossed it into the air, releasing a Piloswine, the giant fur-covered Pokemon sniffing the ground with its snout.
Ignus then got down to its level on one knee. "Okay, Typhon, we're going to need your help from here on out." He then turned to everyone while revealing a Pokedex from his coat, turning to the page for Vibrava. "I once trained a Vibrava. According to this entry, they are considered Ground and Dragon-types...therefore, we're going to need Dragon- or Ice-type moves to help against them. However..."
He then turned to Brooke. "Using Psychic types like Grumpig would also help. Flying types also." He nodded at Seth. He then crossed both his arms, and said with a smile, "Any questions?"

Brooke was impressed with Seth’s response to Tamsin’s welfare, she instantly knew that the boy would make an amazing Ranger. She would have to ask him which Ranger School he was going too, so that she could then write a letter of recommendation for him; to make sure he got in. A commendation from a Pokémon Professor? It was a sure start, Brooke was certain of it.
"And there was some kind of noise. Like, a buzzing. It just, made me shut down. But I'm good now."
Buzzing, shutting down. Brooke nodded, ”Vibrava are capable of emitting sound waves with their wings, there’s a strong possibility that it could have manipulated the waves to a frequency where you could have become nauseated by it... Resulting in blacking out. But normally all they can do is induce headaches... This isn’t right.” She stroked her chin with thumb and forefinger, then turned to look out as a group of Vibrava led by a Flygon burst from the trees into the sky. ”Maybe that’s it... Sound waves...” She muttered to herself, then shook her head.
"I once trained a Vibrava. According to this entry, they are considered Ground and Dragon-types...therefore, we're going to need Dragon- or Ice-type moves to help against them. However..."
Brooke turned around at this point, wide eyed with surprise. Who was the Professor here?
“...Using Psychic types like Grumpig would also help. Flying types also. Any questions?”
Brooke was utterly gobsmacked by Ignus; certainly she didn’t doubt his knowledge, but Brooke was the party leader here for a reason. ”Thank you Ignus. But, as you should be aware, we are a group of Champions, a Gym Leader and a Ranger in training. We know. Also, I’d like it if you would not take over my investigation, if that is quite alright?” She smiled, then nodded and clapped her hands together.
”Alright everyone. We’ve got to find the source of the problem, I can’t help but have a feeling that there’s something potentially man made in this jungle that’s upsetting the Vibrava. Keep your heads up, we may be encountering other enraged Pokémon too. I want clean knock outs, we need to move quickly.”
Brooke drew out her laptop from her bag and opened it up, balancing it in the crook of one arm as the other tapped away. ”Just as I thought... Alright, we have a strange signal coming from north of here; we can’t hear it, but our Pokémon might, we need to be careful.” She warned everyone, then pointed in the direction. ”This way everyone!” Brooke instructed, her scarf billowing behind her, Grumpig and Charizard in tow.

Lorna smiled and patted Dragonite's flank. "We got the Dragon types covered. Nothing usually attacks a Dragonite head on...though that Flygon did."
The Johto veteran frowned, stroking her jaw thoughtfully as she fell instep with Brooke. "The one that attacked me has a radio collar, I use them to collect data on various pokemon species - I was tracking her before I met up with you guys. I've got a couple Vibrava tagged in this area too. This is a lot more disconcerting than I'd originally thought. As a rule Flygon aren't overly agressive and Vibrava even less so. It's no where near mating season so there's no real explination for it."
With that the biologist dug into the large satchel she'd slung around Dragonite's neck and pulled out a rectangular device with a radar screen as well as a metal rod with a radio reciever. "We can use this to track down the Vibrava and Flygon I have collared in this area - and see if it's got any bearing on that signal you've picked up Brooke!."

The group got moving rather swiftly, which he was impressed with. They were all very brilliant, each knowing a lot about this region and the Pokemon within it.
He took out a Pokeball and looked up to Unfezant, said "Return!" and the flying Pokemon obeyed. Weavile walked next to him.
"If it's alright with you, Miss...Shale, right? I can walk with you and make sure you're alright, just in a medical sense, there's no doubt you're a very capable trainer."
As they began to move, Weavile looked around, making sure no Dragon-types got near. Seth, after listening in on the Champion's talking, asked tenatively, "If it's not a bad time to ask, how many Gym Leaders are there?"

Tamsin nodded. "That would make sense. I sure do have a headache," she grimaced, rubbing the back of her head.
The Pokedex entry confirmed the Vibrava's type. Dragon/Ground. That means that Cloyster's Ice Beam would tear through them. She grinned as Brooke reclaimed control of the group. No one needed to know that she hadn't known the type. Who the hell would have guessed they were Ground type anyway?
Tamsin heard Lorna speak up. "It's no where near mating season so there's no real explination for it."
"Well I've been in the Terrafell Mountains for the past few days, and there have been no problems. I'm guessing it's restricted to the Jungle."
The group seemed to be heading off, so Tamsin hoisted her satchel up her shoulder and followed the Professor, Pokeball firmly in hand.

Ignus scratched his head, "Eheheheh, sorry, Brooke, sometimes I tend to get carried away. Just...felt like I wanted to commit to the team...<sigh>nevermind." He then turned to Lorna, who was talking about a radar device of sorts. A radar, huh? That would help...
He then began walking in one direction, his Piloswine Typhon following him. He then turned to Brooke, and pointed in a direction. "I'm gonna look around this way and see if I can find something related to all this. See ya." And then he began walking through the brush, Typhon not too far behind.
Great...just great, Ignus! Way to embarass yourself! he thought angrily to himself as he made his way through the brush. Should have guessed I would feel out of place...however, emitting sound waves...Vibrava are very scary when they're angry...but something doesn't feel right. Maybe...
He then stopped thinking when Typhon brushed his snout against his leg, causing Ignus to look up, spotting a cave on top of a mountain. Ignus then stared at the Piloswine, which then nudged him closer to the cave. Ignus sighed, and then noticed some Vibrava going out of the cave, flying towards where Brooke and the others were. He then noticed that Arashi ran off, as he checked the Pokeballs on his sash, noticing the Nest Ball opened and empty.
Ignus sighed. Great...one more thing to worry about! He then noticed that the zebra Pokemon came back immediately, carrying Ignus' metal briefcase in its teeth. "Arashi, at least give me a sign of warning before you go running off." Arashi then rubbed its head against Ignus', which he then sighed, and stroked Arashi's spiky fur. "Well, it's good to see that you're okay. And, thanks for getting my briefcase. I was going to let you out to go get it, but I can see that you were going to get it anyway."
The briefcase in question was one item that Ignus would never go exploring without. Opening the case, Ignus stared at the tools of his trade: binoculars, a compass, some food rations, and six more Pokeballs, each one marked with a specific stamp. He took out the binoculars, which also took photos of everything Ignus sees.
He took a photo of the cave, and was about to head back when he noticed that him and his Pokemon were now surrounded by Vibrava, the bug-like Pokemon buzzing irritably. Oh boy... Ignus thought as the Vibrava closed in on them, Typhon and Arashi preparing themselves, him getting into his battle stance. Never thought there would be this many... "Typhon, Arashi! Give all of them clean knock-outs! Make sure that no single Vibrava has the energy to fight! GO!" His voice was then surrounded by the buzzing getting louder as his Pokemon emitted their most powerful moves, him with a smirk on his face.
