"I don't think I've ever seen an Absol move that fast and that Joltion's no slouch when it comes to speed either!"
Brooke nodded in agreement, it was going to be so close between Soren and Tobias. The lines were blurring even further as the battles continued, Tobias’s telepathic connection between him and his Alakazan were impressive – and something she would want to study soon... As a scientist, she was sure there was a logical explanation. In the next battle, Tobias threw out a small yellow box to his Electabuzz, Brooke gasped, “An Electirizer! That must mean...” And so the white glow from Electabuzz began, its form changing and growing larger – more powerful. That was when Brooke knew who would win this battle.
Brooke stood up to applaud and cheer for both Gym Leaders when Tobias took the win. She was so proud of both of them! Already she could see trainers in the crowd analysing their strategies, working out whether they would want to attempt to battle with the Leaders. The anxiety was building, but the small figure of a young girl running over to her father cut the tension for the desire of battle. Soren’s little girl was adorable and this was the first time Brooke had actually seen her, she chuckled at the sight and noticed a camera looking at her for a reaction shot, she instantly sat down to look indifferent. Dammit media.
The next match up was Nyght Zasq versus Tamsin Shale, she cheered for both – but knew Tamsin because of their expedition to find the tower, so she knew who she favoured in this battle. However, she was thoroughly intrigued about Nyght, she hadn’t seen him battle yet. Only briefly met him when the League was first formed and the officials met to discuss rules and such. He was quite elusive, she was keen to see the Attacker’s style.

Evie was, to say the least, awestruck with Soren and Tobias’ battle. Both of their Pokémon, Jolteon, Absol, Alakazam... Electivire. Evie exhaled a long breath, the battle was so intense and so fast she was afraid that if she blinked she would have missed it all! She admired the sportsmanship when the two leaders exchanged badges, it was a nice touch – and Evie felt a pang of desire, she wanted those badges too. But, she was a co-ordinator, what change would she have in the league? Pikachu cheered fiercely for his trainer, both Pikachu and Evie were proud of Tobias – Evie knew even back in the grass plains, she had no chance against him.
"Guess who met a Roaming Leader yesterday!"
Evie gasped at the sight of the Fleet badge in Jack’s hand as she leaned forward to get a better look, “Oh wow! Jack well done!” She congratulated, Vulpix cheering as well. Just then, Evie turned to see Zeke wander down with a Chandelure on a leash, she blinked “How.. Interesting.” She said to herself more than anything, and touched her hand to Seth’s to get his attention, you had to admit, seeing a Pokémon on a lead – especially one like Chandelure, was quiet amusing!

After healing his pokemon, Tobias darted up into the stands, trying to keep his face hidden in his hood so as not to draw to much attention. He sifted through the crowds headed for where he had seen a bolt of electricity when he had been battling. He quickly saw the person he was looking for and walked up behind her without her noticing. He lifted his finger to his lips to his Pikachu who had noticed him before putting his hands over her eyes from behind her.
"Guess who Evie." He said quietly smiling down to his little electric pokemon then back to Evie.

"Ah, yeah," Jack grinned at the flabbergasted faces of his friends. "Funny story! You know how I was still in Maple Town? Well I was just sitting at the bay and in strolls Soren all gentleman...ly and I ask for an interview and also a battle but instead of a battle it was more of a race, but you know he's really quite intimidating when he wants to be because he's powerful and- pffft!" Jack rambled, basic sentence structure going out of the window in his excitement before noticing the Chandelure on a lead. He sputtered out a laugh.
"Seth, can I borrow that camera again? I need to get a photo of this!" He had a friend back at the Sentinel Offices that was fascinated by ghost stories, and the idea of his face when seeing this was just perfect!
And just like that, out of no where, Tobias appeared! This was a day that just kept giving. "Wow, Tobias, that really was something back there. You're an amazing fighter!" he applauded.

“A race? Wow.. The League really are going to be different here.” A race, Evie could manage a race – her Gligar was fast, but it wasn’t that fast compared to other fliers, which Soren looked to favour. Her only chance really was in battle and even then she wasn’t so sure. “One down, four to go eh?” Evie grinned at Jack, somewhat envious of him.
She felt Pikachu shift on her shoulder, but didn’t take much notice. Next thing she knew her eyes had been covered and a familiar voice filled her ears, she instantly turned and flung her arms around Tobias in a huge hug, “Well done Tobias! I’m so proud of you!” She laughed and released him, “No wonder I got beaten so badly, you’re an incredible trainer! I mean, that link you have with Alakazam? And Electabuzz evolving? That was amazing!”

Zeke found his chair, flopping down to enjoy the show, his Chandelure floating happily above him. There were so many interesting people here, people he should probably have heard of but really, it took effort to research and... stuff. It'd been hard enough getting up the energy to come here in the first place, and even then he'd barely known anything. So many Gym Leaders and opportunities, so little time where he'd actually try. He checked around to keep an idea of what these people actually looked like when he next felt energized, and found a lot of strange looks in his direction. He wasn't that weird, was he?

It was a good day to be Arthur Duncaté. It was a bright day, Elisa, his Chatot, was perched happily on his shoulder occasionally chirping. He had only managed to catch the last part of that battle, but it was invigorating, and dare he say it, electrifying?
Arthur chuckled to himself as he tried to find his seat, kicking litter out of his way, frowning when he hit a can still filled with drink and it covered his shoes. Sighing, he looked up and came face to face with a Chandelure. Arthur let out a (totally manly) scream and recoiled in horror.
He was not fond of ghosts.

Zeke jumped almost off his chair at the high-pitched noise. Esme, his Chandelure, cowered a little. She'd done nothing wrong, after all, just floated like a Chandelure is supposed to. Plus, that was an amazingly girly scream that... pirate... had? Why is that pirate screaming at me?
Zeke arched an eyebrow, leaning closer to where Arthur was recoiled, and holding out the leash, letting Esme float closer. No one was allowed to scream at his Pokemon without good reason.
"That was... feminine. What?"

"That was...feminine. What?" Who said that? Arthur fumed, retreating more from the Chandelure that seemed to be closing in on him. Looking past the freaky pokémon, Arthur spotted a man with dark grey hair looking at him with a 'wtf' face. He must be the owner of this devil! "YOU." He yelled, pointing at the stranger. "Are ye the blasted fool that's letting a ghost run wild?"The Chandelure seemed to glare at him, but he suppressed shivering.
He then looked back at the owner, blue eyes meeting green ones. "And did ye just call me a woman?"

Tobias smiled down to Evie as she spoke, picking up Pikachu and placing him on his shoulder. Pikachu quickly decided that Tobias' shoulder was not good enough and moved up to his head as was his normal seat. "Thank you, and dont worry, Im sure you could beat me one day, just train, Im not that good." He said to her feeling a little embarrassed as a man spoke up to him.
"Thank you." he said holding his hand out to the man to shake. "Sorry, you know my name but I dont know yours." He said with a smile, Pikachu sparking slightly on his head and laughing.

"Are ye the blasted fool that's letting a ghost run wild?" Zeke tried to maintain a scowl at being called a "fool", he really did. He managed it for all of about ten seconds, before splitting into a grin and letting out a chuckle that morphed into full on laughter. He let go of the leash, letting Esme float around behind Arthur and watch him with curiosity. There was so much about this man that didn't seem to fit, and the accent was something he hadn't heard since he last saw a bad pirate film. He managed words around the hilarity.
"You're... you're serious? She's not exactly running wild, I even have her on a lead."
Zeke attempted to look challenging again, before smiling. "You can't scream like that and not be called womanly."

Between the fear of the ghost type pokémon and a general lack of wit needed to create a response, Arthur stood there like an idiot, his mouth opening and closing just like his Lanturns. Arthur decided to scowl at the man who was openly mocking him. "I-,You just..." At his stuttering the other man started laughing again. "Hey, shut up! Ghost types are freaking scary man!" He shouted indignantly, crossing his arms and pouting now that the threat of a crazed ghost was under control. It wasn't his fault he had a high voice, and he was always sort of scared of ghosts... and bugs. Eurgh.
And crap, he just lost his accent. Maybe he'd get lucky and the other man won't realise?

Zeke couldn't stop laughing, clamping his hand over his mouth in the effort. The sudden loss of accent only exacerbated the problem. This... this was hilarious.
"Are all pirates like this?" He couldn't help the guffaw on the word 'pirate', but then again this guy hardly seemed intimidating. The high voice and the fact that he seemed almost terrified of Esme made to a combination that screamed ridiculousness. How was this a grown man? He watched Esme as she floated around Arthur, not making any move to bring her back.

((ffff completely forgot about Lorna XD stunned as a friggin' post wha!))
"Holy crap on a cracker!" Lorna's jaw dropped when Electabuzz was enveloped by a bright light and evolved at that pivtol moment in battle. The newly evolved Electivire made short work of taking out the tired Absol, but there seemed to be no hard feelings between the two men - quite the contrary, this was the first time she'd ever seen Soren smile in public. "Damn what a hail mary move!"
There was a rather sweet moment when a little girl broke free from the crowd and ran up to Soren. The gym leader had swept her up with a laugh that surprised more than a few as he and his daughter made their way back to sit with the other leaders. The biologist snickered to herself when Brooke's laugh and kind expression vanished at the sight of a camera honing in on her. Being the completely evil friend that she was she gave the Professor a nudge with her elbow and smirked. "How can you not smile at that, it's adorable!" she said before dropping her voice to a murmer that only Brooke would hear, "Or are you still trying to dodge the tabloids?"
Struggling not to laugh she turned back to the arena, eager to watch Tamsin and Nyght battle. Having spoken to both she was sure it was going to be a roaring good match...mind you half of her focus would be on Brooke to make sure the younger woman didn't try to knock her senseless for her little quip.

"How can you not smile at that, it's adorable!" Lorna exclaimed, but the moment she dropped her tone Brooke found herself leaning in to listen better, although she knew what was coming and was desperately trying to avoid it. Alas, it was too late, she heard those words. The tabloids, the ‘s’ hissed in her mind for a good few moments afterwards as her face coloured as Brooke scowled at Lorna, going for a sharp jab in the ribs with her elbow, “You’re the one that made it worse! You’ll pay for this Lorna, I swear it.” She jeered quietly to the other scientist. “You’re trying to play with my reputation? So you’re going to get it right back…”
She already had her plan, but it was to be executed after the parade had come to a close and things had settled again. Oh, Lorna was going to be in for such a surprise. For now however, Brooke laced her hands together and rested them in her lap; she was quite looking forward to Nyght and Tamsin’s battle.
