The group had moved north from Maple Town, into the northern wilderness. Evie seemed fairly relaxed for the time being, Aphrodite; her vulpix seemed so as well. She looked around and leaned into William to whisper, “So... What exactly are we looking for?” She asked, they were currently still on one of the beaten down pathways that lead through the area; they were just going into the jungle now, the humidity hitting like a brick wall as they got closer.
Vulpix groaned in dismay at the humidity of the rainforest, ditto with Evie; both were pampered to an extent and perspiration was not something that either could handle particularly well. It was why Evie usually stuck to the south, in the forest and the grass plains; sometimes the beach; but Evie had a thing against sand.

William stepped forward as Evie spoke, seeing her words as his cue to get to work. He stepped ahead of the rest of the group before holding his arm out to stop them. He then bent down to the ground and examined the path before moving to the trees then finally looking up to the sky.
"What is the strangest thing about this place?" He asked, his brain firing up as he went into tracking mode, finding it easier to think when talking aloud. "Look around you and really look. For a start look at the sky, a flock of Pidgy just flew away from this jungle, but in summer they make nest to breed. This tells us that they are flying away from something, but what?" He pointed down to the floor, directing the groups attention again. "Now look down, the path is dry even though the air is humid, this means the ground has been used on mass very recently." He then pointed to the edges of the path. "And by the looks of this dirt deposit I would say something large and heavy has been dragged through here, probably tree trunks. Anyone else notice that the borders of the Jungle have moved in? There was undergrowth on the ground that only normally grow under tree canopy because they use the fallen leaves as fertiliser, yet there they were, wilting out in the sunlight. That can lead us to only one conclusion, there were trees out there only days ago that are now gone. Someone is building something out there and were are only a few days behind them."
William stood tall and breathed in deeply through his nose, sniffing the air too look for further clues. He turned to the others with a thoughtful look on his face. "One other thing, is it just me, or is there a surprisingly low amount of wild pokemon here?"

Lorna nodded, agreeing with William's analysis. She was impressed by the younger man's powers of observation and his dedeuctive reasoning. "Well done William, if you ever ned a job let me know I could use a man like you in the field," she said with a crooked grin, but it was a shortlived smile. "But you're right, I do a lot of work in this jungle, there are always pokemon vocalizing but it's almost dead quiet. Whatever is here it's been affecting the population and it's got the remaining pokemon spookedsomething fierce."
The biologist called over her Dragonite, the big orange dragon was carrying her satchel full of equipment again, and she dug around in the bag until she pulled out her radio receiver and the collapsable antenna. She opened up the large branched piece of metal and switched on the device. She made a wide sweep but was greeted by only electronic silence. She shook her head and placed the equipment back into her satchel. "Not good - I use radio collars to track pokemon of interest and to keep an eye on the migrating species; there should be several collared pokemon in this area but I'm getting absolutely nothing on the recever."
She peered into the trees with narrowed eyes. "Come on, we should get moving."

Lumine flew over the canopy atop her Unfezant Ivan, looking around for the group that Ignus told her about over the phone. Her being a Pokemon Ranger, there was no way she would just let this go over her head. Flying ahead, she then noticed a Dragonite carrying a satchel, but that's not what caught her eye. What caught her eye was Lorna McKinley. Smiling, she nudges Ivan and pointed down towards Lorna, the Unfezant complying and hovering lower and lower, Lumine calling out Lorna's name. "Lorna, up here. It's me, Lumine."

Lorna looked up at the sound of someone calling her name and saw Lumine heading towards them, flying on the back of her Unfezant. She smiled and waved to the younger woman, beckoning her close. "Ah Lumine there you are, perfect timing!" she said. "Come on, we're just about to start tracking this sorry excuse for a human being."

Lumine nodded and her Unfezant Ivan dropped down to settle next to the Dragonite, nodding in a welcoming manner to everyone and their Pokemon. Lumine then jumped off the Unfezant's back, smiling to Lorna then her smile faded as she returned Ivan back into his Pokeball. "You're right, Lorna. Whoever's doing this will be punished." She then looked over to everyone else in the group, and smiled, nodding to all of them. "Hello everyone. I am Lumine Divina. It's nice to meet you all in person."

William smiled at the woman, not used to receiving praise for his deductions. He smiled and ran a hand through his hair, under his fringe before looking up to the shouting coming from above. This must be the Lumine that Ignus had spoken of.
He made a mental note to get Lorna's number at some point, he may very well need a job in the near future. As they set off William took a Pokeball from his belt and tossed it in front of him, releasing his Crystal Onix in a flash of red light, the light that was streaming from between the leaves reflecting off of its glass-like body. "Onix has a compass in its head, he will keep us in a straight line." He said patting his trusted pokemon who growled happily in response.

Arthur sighed for what felt like the hundredth time, he was attempting to gain the attention of the others, so he could express how bored he was. So far his tactics were unsuccessful. He rolled his eyes as he heard this so called 'William' spout a load of information about the area. To him it just sounded like he had made it up right there on the spot to try and be impressive. Show off. He could do that if he wanted to. He honestly didn't care about poachers, it had nothing to do with him! So what if some guy was stealing them all, it's not like there aren't enough pokémon in the world, so what made this guy any different to a regular trainer? Sure, he may be 'stealing' pokémon, but Arthur was a pirate! He has had his fair amounts of pilfering, even if it was just chewing gum from the local mart.
He looked over to his sort-of friend and nudged him in the stomach roughly. "How did I wind up tagging along with you losers?" He asked snarkily. Oh and as if it couldn't get any worse, now someone else had arrived, a girl by the looks of it. Just brilliant. One more addition to this rag-tag brigade of justice crusaders.

Zeke bounced along happily, Esme the Chandelure bobbing along behind him on a leash. This actually seemed slightly fun, even if the reason for the trip was bad, very bad, not good at all, he should probably stop smiling. But it'd been a while since he'd been in such a big group and it gave him a chance to get to know people. It was the weather that gave him cause for concern, however. A ridiculous amount of heat tends to lead to people getting sluggish, and if they're chasing poachers they can't afford for that. No matter how much of an idiot Zeke acted (and was, to be truthful), he could at least take note of the situation. He hoped having a Pokemon already at hand would help speed things up, if an attack occurred.
He nodded along with William's deductions, not really sure of anything but hey, he seems to know what he's talking about. No point arguing with the clever people. Lorna seemed to think he was making sense too, so there was some reassurance. Shrugging, Zeke pulled a big leaf off a nearby tree and started to fan himself with it.
"How did I wind up tagging along with you losers?"
"Because you liiiike us, obviously. I told you you didn't hate me!" Zeke couldn't help but grin happily at Arthur, fanning him with the leaf too. Maybe it was just the heat making him all snarky. Cool breeze might cheer him up.
Watching as Lumine descended, Zeke couldn't help but grin at the Unfezant. "Hello! I'm Ezekiel Sparrow, but you can call me Zeke..." He paused, before looking in slight despair at his hands. "I-... I'd shake your hand but now I have a leaf in one and a leash in the other and I don't have a third hand so I'm sorry!" He made a clumsy bow instead, accidentally pulling Esme down with him.

Lorna's keen ears picked up on the discontented murmurings of someone near the back of the group - the strange fellow who'd come bounding in at the last minute, one of Zeke's friends. who apparently was terrified of ghost types. Her hackles were already raised from this poaching drama and she was in no mood to entertain a whiny wanna be pirate. She walked towards the young man and glared down at him. She was taller then he was and of a studier build...and the poor boy hadn't yet realized she had a temper worse then an angry Gyrados. "Listen to me whelp," she growled grabbing onto the front of his shirt. "If you're only here to complain you can turn your sorry arse around and go back from where you came from! Do you not understand the gravity of the situation!? This poaching is a serious threat to the ecology of the entire island! Many of the pokemon species here are non-native and the populations are still very fragile. If things go out of whack it will mean disaster for the remaining species!"She let go of the young man's shirt and turned away with a snarl and started walking back towards the head of the group, Dragonite lumbering close behind. She paused and glared over her shoulder at Arthur. "It's your choice laddie, stay or go but I'm warnin' you - one more word and I'll kick your arse to Johto and back before you'll know what hit you. My advice: shut your gob, be a good boy and let the professionals work."((Got nothing against you Arthur mate angry Lorna is just a hoot and a half to play lol))

((Haha, don't sweat it, he is a bit of a dick, and he's used to abuse anyway D' Arthur was'nt sure what was happening, it had occurred so fast! He was just having a friendly little chat with Zeke, and some brutish woman started attacking him! Truth be told he was terrified, he didn't even hear most of her telling off, he was squealing too much. Zeke wasn't much help, vaguely offering his input, but otherwise being useless. Some friend he is. His Chatot, Elisa, had flown off his shoulder when the woman latched onto his shirt, and was now hovering off to the side, it looked like she was almost laughing at his pitiful state. After the She-hulk had let go of him, he crossed his arms and sulked, like the petulant man he was. "Wench..." He muttered under his breath, not loud enough for the scary lady to hear him, he didn't want to evoke her wrath again, but he wanted the last word. Even if it was inaudible. Arthur didn't say much else as he was busy brooding, instead he pulled out one of his cigars and placed it in his mouth. He needed some stress relief, and this trip had only just begun.

Evie was going to pretend that she understood every single word that William had said, she pressed her lips together in a forced smile and nodded. “Yeah, I see that.” Really meant, I didn’t get a word you meant. Well Lorna, William, you’re going to have your hands full of herpaderp on this trip courtesy of Evie, Zeke and Arthur. Good luck.
Suddenly, from the sky, a woman appeared on the back of an Unfezant and landed amongst them. Evie didn’t have a clue of who this person was, but apparently Lorna knew her. There was something familiar about her, but obviously it wasn’t important enough for Evie to have retained in her memory. “Hello, I’m Evie.” She introduced herself as, Vulpix nudged against her ankle, “And that’s Aphrodite.” Evie added with a chuckle.
Arthur clearly didn’t want to be here, and by the sound of his accent he seemed to think that he was a pirate. The other implications were his clothing and that cute little Chatot on his shoulder, Evie found herself gravitating towards Arthur and Zeke after Arthur got a mouthful from the Johto Champion. “If it makes you feel any better, I think pirates are cool?”

William tried to ignore the conversations and arguments that were happening behind him as he kept his eyes peeled for more clues. He moved towards Lorna as she seemed to be the only other person here with an intellect, as oppose to the pirate and the man who had a pokemon on a lead at the back of the group, who seemed to have all the brain power of a Slowpoke.
"Do you think it would be a good plan to look above the canopy?" He asked Lorna as he patted his Onix's tail. If these poachers were building something then it might be taller then the trees by now, that would at least give them a more clear destination.

Zeke had made a vague attempt of defending Arthur, hand-flailing and all, with his "he isn't that bad!" and "he's just a bit cranky", but it hadn't done much. Plus, he hadn't really wanted to turn anyone's wrath on himself. This lady could be scary. Maybe she had eaten some spinach or something, no wait, that's Popeye isn't it? What did angry people eat? Burritos? After Lorna had stomped off, Zeke patted Arthur on the head lightly, murmuring, "It's okay! I still like you and your crankiness!" Esme had just looked slightly amused by Arthur's telling off (really, could it be described any other way? It's like he was a child), bobbing closer to him.
As Evie moved closer, Zeke slung an arm around her shoulders, grinning widely. "See! She thinks you're cool too!" Ah, the beautiful stupidity they could make, if left to their own devices. It would be glorious. He left William and Lorna to discuss intelligent ideas and theories regarding the poachers - Zeke was just interested in saving some Pokemon. That, and keeping them cool, using the tried-and-tested method of "flap this leaf at people in an effort to create a breeze". Truthfully, it wasn't doing much. "You don't have to be so upset, you're doing a good thing! You could be a good pirate. Like... that pirate that was good."

"Its okay! I still like you and your crankiness!" Arthur was in no mood to retort to this idiot, so instead he blew smoke from his cigar into the other mans face and watched him flail, that at least brought him some satisfaction.
Oh great, and now another woman was coming over. Was she going to yell at him too? If all women were like Lorna then he may have abstain from them completely. Maybe she had PMS? Arthur sure as hell didn't want to know. All in all, he was not looking forward to this blonde woman approaching hm.
"If it makes you feel any better, I think pirates are cool?"
Ok, this one was alright. Arthur started laughing raucously, completely disregarding his earlier depression, his ego bloated by being acknowledged as a pirate. He then turned to the new lady, taking her hand and kissing it, whilst giving her his most devilish look. "Aye, pirates be very cool. Cooler than that guy anyway" At that he pointed to where William was inspecting some leaves and they shared a giggle. He then turned to Zeke, a condescending look on his face. "Fool, there are no good pirates, it kind of defeats the point." He ground out sharply, before turning to Evie and smiling sweetly. "Now Lassie" He started in his smoothest voice. "I have to say, you be carrying the finest booty I have ever laid my eyes on." he finished with a wink. Oh yeah, he was such a charmer.
