William was about to send out his Swampert to help fight the fire when Jason ordered them to put there pokemon away. He was toying with them, but at least it meant they would not lose any more pokemon for the moment. He was silent as Jason spoke, his eyes never once leaving the man, listening to his words of warning and self praise.
"I will never join you..." He said though gritted teeth once Jason had finished his speech, feeling utterly useless.

Lumine still glared at the poacher as he gave his little speech, herself not moving an inch. When he finished, however, she took a step forward, her amber eyes glowing with anger still. "As if I would join someone like you!"
Buredo's Pokeball twitched violently on her belt again, and she hushed it by placing her hand over it. She felt completely useless when Arthur's Feraligatr was snagged, and she mentally punched herself for just standing there and being all bark and no bite. Nonetheless, most of her Pokemon on her right now were Pokemon she used to gain her Championships, Buredo being one of them. She couldn't afford to lose any of them to the poacher, and so she made what was believed to be the right decision and kept her Pokemon in their Pokeballs, and made her way over to Lorna who was pushed away by the Metagross' Psychic and helped her up. "Lorna, are you okay?"

Lorna hauled herself up out of the water with Lumine's help, watching helplessly as Arthur's pokemon was snagged. She snarled and broke away from the younger woman and stepped back out into the riveras she returned her Gyrados.
"Listen to me laddie!" she barked, her gruff accent showing just how absolutely livid she was as she wagged a finger at the poacher. "I wouldn't join you even if you put a gun up to my goddamn head!"
She waded out further, shooting the Metagross a heavy glare as if daring it to come at her. "You think I'm weak and useless without my pokemon? Come down here and say that to my face ye gutless worm! C'mon now, why don't you and me go one on one eh, no pokemon just a bit of hand to hand?"
Anger was rolling off the biologist in waves now - she absolutely despised the pitiful excuse for a man standing before her and his insinuation that she had to rely on her pokemon for eveything. Her pokemon were her best friends - her partners, but she was more then ready to go toe to toe with this jackass without them. She waded out further until she was almost at the base of the bank where Jason was standing. She threw aside her stachel and stripped off her jacket, raising her hands in a beckoning gesture. "Come on then! Put your Metagross away and show me what you're made of!"
True she had no formal training as a fighter beyond a fair number of pub brawls - but right now she was angry enough to try just about anything to shut this man up and get their pokemon back.

The flames were doused, and that was when Jason gave his little evil monologue; it made her sick to her stomach. "Quickly now." She said to Persephone, returning the Milotic before it could be snagged. She turned to see the large claw take Feraligatr, "No!" But it was too late, another one gone. She gave Arthur a helpless look, but there was nothing they could do now. Except..
Evie went to rejoin the group, she placed a hand on Lorna's arm, "No, don't." She told her, this was going to be one of Evie's very rare moments of 'intelligence', let her have it. Evie stepped forward to face Jason, hating that the river was parting them from him, her eyes watched Aphrodite for a moment, before she gave Jason a steely gaze. Maybe this was the most foolish thing she's ever done, "I accept." She stated simply, but it was not what he may think. She left that dramatic pause on purpose. "I accept your challenge! I will fight and I will get Aphrodite back! Go on then! Retreat to your pathetic little tower, we're coming, we'll show you just how strong we are!"
She looked to the others, "We need to guys, he'll only do more damage if he stays here. Let him go somewhere where he thinks he has the upper hand."

Arthur felt his time was running out, and when he saw the poacher raise his hand, he looked at Steve. Steve turned and Arthur smiled reassuringly, tears welling up in his eyes. Feraligatr returned his look with a sad acceptance, before he disappeared. Arthur let his hand drop and ran it through his hair. He had done that to Steve, so he was going to have to get him back somehow. He sniffed a little and rubbed his eyes quickly, catching only the last half of Jason's monologue. So he wanted them to join him? According to this guy it was either join or die. He thought about this, let it all sink in, before replying.
"Sure, I'll join. As long as I get my Feraligatr back." He stood tall as he spoke, a fake confidence in his voice.
He had made his decision.

There was so much happening, the fire being extinguished as the other's Pokemon worked hard. Zeke felt terrible, his hand frozen on his Pokeball. He just... he couldn't. This was ridiculous, he was meant to be a Trainer, for God's sake. He couldn't just... Zeke stayed where he was, staring around him by the edge of the river. He almost called out for Lorna to call off the attack, but that would just lead to the fire being re-ignited. Esme...
It didn't take long for Arthur's Feraligatr to be taken. Zeke shielded himself with his arms as the Metagross's Psychic blasted across the area, before running over to pull him into a hug. "I'm sorry, we'll get him back..." He pulled back slowly, turning to watch Jason's monologue. There was too much talk of destruction, to much promise of a world shattered. This couldn't happen... His eyes hardened into a glare with each word. No more time for panic. "We will never-" Zeke cut off.
"Sure, I'll join. As long as I get my Feraligatr back."
He froze, turning his head to look at Arthur in complete shock. No. "What... no! You can't! You can't do that, you don't... do you know what you're doing? You said yourself we're the better men! Now's the time to prove it!"

"No!" Jack yelled, staring at Arthur. "You're doing exactly what he wants. Look at us. There's nine of us and one of him! With our Pokemon combined he wouldn't stand a bloody chance!"
He turned, looking at the people in the group. "We have two champions and a roaming leader! He has to snag them individually, and there's no way he can get them all!"
He pulled his five pokeballs out and slung them through the air, revealing Jack's best friends. It was a risk, but they could do it. His poliwhirl, Chase, landed in the river and was beelining for the other shore before Jack even gave the command, his Slowpoke close behind. Aipom launched itself up to the trees, swinging from the branches. Zangoose and Bayleef stood their ground, ready for an order. "Guys, take out that tall freak with the lame arm thingy!"

Jason smiled at their responses, each person declining his polite offer, that was until Arthur spoke. He smile widened to an almost insane looking grin as the man stepped forward. Jason knew who they were, their names and their histories, it might be good to have a pirate onside. He gave Lorna a deep glare, wishing she had not been stopped by Evie. He hadn't had a good hand to hand fight in a while. He had of course been trained in combat by team rocket, he knew Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan form, not to mention he had done two years of Drunken Mankey.
"Welcome aboard Commodore..." He said, gesturing to his side with his hand, inviting Arthur to cross the river and join him. He waited as the man crossed the water, holding Feraligator's new pokeball in his hand, toying with it slightly with his fingers. "I am a man of my word." He said as Arthur reached his side of the bank. "You may have your pokemon back... After you prove your loyalty to me... Use your pokemon to attack your friends..."
Jason raised an eyebrow as the reporter released his pokemon, the snag machine charging up. He had a plan for this guy, Jack was weak and emotional, an easy target. He threw the pokeball at the pokemon headed towards him, snagging the Poliwhirl then releasing it again so it stood next to him. "Poliwhirl, stand next to Metagross..." He ordered then nodded to the steel type pokemon. He looked back to Jack as Metagross lifted its foot and held it hovering over Poliwhirl's head. "Call off the attack or the pokemon dies..." He said, Metagross placing its foot on the water pokemon as Jason spoke.

Jack's face dropped instantly from furious determination into terror. His Pokemon froze in their places as he screamed for them to halt. He couldn't just watch his Pokemon die. Swiftly and desperately he returned the rest before dropping to his knees defeated.
Tears welled up in Jack's eyes as he saw Chase, his Chase, stood on the other side of the water. "You can't... You can't do that..." he mumbled.

Lorna allowed herself to be dragged back by Evie - just barely. Jack was quick to take up the offensive however, releasing all of his pokemon in a full frontal attack. The look on the boy's face was heartbreaking when his Poliwhirl was snagged and the Metagross loomed above it threateningly. She felt sick, even worse at Arthur giving in and saying he'd join - though she couldn't be mad, she knew he just wanted his pokemon back.
"Everybody stop!" she barked. She looked up at the poacher with a baleful glare. "You - we'll see you at the tower! Just get out of here and get ready bastard - you've got a shitload of trouble gunning for you."
The biologist then rounded on Arthur, her pale eyes narrowed to dangerous slits. "Arthur, do what you think is neccessary by you - but if you're going to get that gator to attack anyone you get him to attack me understand? The rest of you get to that tower and get the pokemon back."

Arthur felt so low when Zeke looked at him like that. Arthur didn't want to betray him, but he needed to join Jason, didn't he see that? "I have to, Zeke." Arthur said sadly, eyes locked onto the floor. "Don't you see? It's the only way to get our pokémon back. Surely you want the same thing?!" Arthur cried. He gestured with his hands, pleading for Zeke to understand him, although it seemed fruitless. With steely eyes Arthur crossed the river separating the two factions. He reached out to take his pokéball, but the poacher held it just out of his grasp. Great, so not only did he just abandon his only sort-of-friends, but now he had to battle them? Arthur gritted his teeth and glared at Jason. If he kept messing him about like that, then Arthur might just beat the shit out of him. But if he did that then that Poliwhirl will die. Dammit.
Arthur heard Lorna speak. Arthur had always fancied himself a bit of an actor, it seems now was the time to put those skills to use. "You know, Lorna, you are really starting to piss me off." At the confused look on the biologist's face, he elaborated. "You have been on my arse since day one. I really don't care for your attitude. Or just you in general." Arthur smirked widely, mirth glowing in his eyes. "Honestly, I hate the lot of you. William, you constantly have a stick up your arse, Evie, you're as thick as they come. Lorna, you're just a bitch. And you." He pointed towards Lumine. "Have you actually done anything since we began this little trip?" Arthur shrugged and sighed dramatically. "I hate you all. But especially you." This time he pointed his finger at Zeke. "You disgust me. You're so pathetic you probably need help doing up your shoelaces! I'll be glad to be rid of you." Tears threatened to surface, but Arthur suppressed them, instead turning to his new comrade."So which one of these losers should I fight, hmm?"

Jason chuckled at Arthur's attitude, he had a talent for this. He stroked his chin as he looked upon the pathetic team of misfits, rejects and fakes, singling out the one that seemed most upset by Arthur joining him. "Attack Zeke, not his pokemon... Him..." He grinned as the snag machine kicked into life, a pokeball appearing in his hand, just in case Zeke tried to defend himself.

Zeke watched Arthur go, having to force himself not to grab a hold of Arthur and pull him back. He couldn't. He couldn't leave, not now, not ever. This was all so wrong. He took a careful step back and bit his lip, clenching his fists as Arthur twirled and picked apart their team one by one. He'd been a part of them so recently, it was jarring to see how quick he could turn. Zeke couldn't help his sharp inhale as Arthur turned on him, his eyes widening with each word. Ah, truth, a cruel mistress. It took a moment before his words would string together into something coherent.
"I... but you..." Zeke swallowed and uncurled his fists, one hand pointing at Arthur before waving his arm as he spoke for emphasis, or just something to keep him somewhat more occupied. "Why are you doing this!? I want you by my side!" He scowled unconvincingly, wiping hurriedly at his eyes. "This isn't you. This isn't you! I can see why you're doing this, but this isn't- your anger isn't enough, not a reason for you to leave! You're going to the losing side! I..." He didn't take his eyes off Arthur as Jason spoke, before turning to the rest of the group and forcing a weak smile. "Well, that makes things easier. Lorna, you have to go, you're one of the strongest here, it'd be silly for you to stay behind. I've... been a bit rubbish so far, haven't I? They need you there." This he could do, settle into a sheepish smile and a scratch of the head. "Hey! This'll be a new experience."

Jason watched Zeke struggle to string together a coherent sentence, a combination of his feelings of fear, sadness and probably partly because of the man's air-headedness. He smiled again as the man accepted his fate, trying to play the hero to the others, an almost admirable act.
"Do it now Commodore..." He hissed, his eyes locking on with Zeke's enjoying the sadness that filled them.

(If this is not okay, say so!!! It's just an idea I got XP )
Seth had been completely thrown off guard by all the events happening at once, the offer becoming the most confusing of all.
He had been lucky, not having any Pokemon snagged as of right now. Him turning over would be a brutal betrayal.
Seth had just kept his mouth shut thus far, because he knew someone was off in the wilderness, finding a way around all of this. All he had to do was wait.
Seth walked up beside Jack, and then just shouted out, "Jack's got a point, whoever you are! You've got a different choice- you can join us!"
Behind Arthur and Jason, Nyght Zasq crept up silently, having snuck his way out during the fires and taking time to swim across the river to get behind them. The one thing Nyght had kept in mind was knowing his Pokemon were strongest when they had no range to worry about.
In one swoop, Nyght Zasq broke his silence. "Darmanitan and Hitmonchan Fire Punch Metagross!"
Two sudden beams of red energy revealed the two Pokemon, each preparing a fiery fist for the Steel/Psychic.
Seth made a similar move. Taking out one Pokeball and throwing it hard as he could across the river- Lord knows how much of an effort that took- Seth cried out "Houndour, go!"
A small Houndour emerged, baring fangs and a whole lot of anger. Even if it only meant getting Jason to move and keep the group somewhat safe...
