(Little side RP that anyone who isn’t busy can join in with! ) The Pokémon Professor was feeling agitated, there hadn’t been any news yet from the team that had gone in search of the poacher. Work was going slow in the lab, the dragon scale she was investigating hadn’t given up any results yet – she’d need to do more tests. She needed something to do and as such had decided she ought to go down to the Pokémon Centre and see what the local trainers were doing and see who was passing through, well, she needed to take her lunch break anyway. So off she went, Ampharos stayed to watch the machines that worked tirelessly on the scale whilst her beloved Charizard would accompany her down into the town, Grumpig taking his patrol around the lab’s grounds alone for the time being. It was a bit chilly in Maple Town today, but with a coastal position like this it was no surprise really, even in the summer you had cold flukes like this; she pulled her coat a little bit tighter as she and the orange dragon moved closer into town. Only after a short walk did they arrive, some who were better learned than others greeted the Professor and queried about the poaching scandal they had heard on the news; Brooke felt a bit abashed that she didn’t have any answers yet, but she promised them soon. Nurse Joy offered her a coffee and she eagerly accepted, whilst she went off Brooke leaned against the counter and watched someone’s little Charmander stare up in awe at the old Charizard, who seemed utterly disinterested. Brooke couldn’t help but feel immense nostalgia being here in the Pokémon Centre, seeing the hustle and bustle of trainers making arrangements with one another – be it for battling or for travelling onto the next town. It reminded her so much of her days as a trainer; the amount of friends she made along the way, she still kept in touch with most of them. However, there was one topic that she kept over hearing though, and that was the paranoia over the poachers. The Professor couldn’t help but frown, it was sad that they felt nervous – she couldn’t even assure them that it would be alright because honestly, she had no clue! Nurse Joy returned with the coffee and the pair made small talk about the island and current affairs over the sweet smelling hot beverage. She was glad she had come down here, despite the anxiety.

((...Aurea I think you've gotten me addicted to this RP group but really, I need this after the hell of this weekend -_-' )) Soren Forberg was glad he'd worn his heavy overcoat today - there seemed to be a bit of chill in the air despite the fact it was summer. Maple Town loomed in the distance, the bright red roof if the pokemon centre immediately catching his eye. That was the only reason he'd dare to wander into a town that was a hub of trainer activity - he'd been on the road for quite some time, he was low on healing supplies and his pokemon were exhausted. As he neared the centre someone yelled out his name and was immediately surrounded by half a dozen young trainers, some just hoping to glimpse him others hoping for a challenge. He smiled and waved them off, assuring he'd stay around for a few battles after he healed his pokemon. He stepped into the centre with a relieved sigh, his relief, however, was short lived when he noticed a striking brunette leaning against the reception desk talking to Nurse Joy. Just my luck...Steeling himself the gym leader walked up to them. "Good day ladies - Nurse Joy I require your assistance, I need my pokemon healed," he said, giving both women a smile. "My Crobat's done something to his wing, I fear it's broken.""No problem Mr. Forberg, we'll have your pokemon right as rain!" Nurse Joy said brightly as the speed master handed over his pokeballs. She bowed politely and disappeared into the back. He stood by Brooke in awkward silence until he managed to muster up his boldness. "So...any luck with the poachers yet?"

(Herpaderp, I call that a success!)
The two women were nattering quite happily about the latest gossip from in town and around the area; apparently there was some contest battles that were going to take place soon in Sienna – that’d be fun to go and watch! Well, regarding that Brooke wasn’t bogged down with work; she had the feeling that Maple would become even more familiar than it already was, the other towns and cities would be pretty alien towards her should she ever need to travel.
"Good day ladies
Oh Lugia no. Brooke looked up and smiled at Soren as he tasked Nurse Joy, the nurse vanishing off to do what she did best. So she was left with Soren, he stood awkwardly; Brooke casually sipped her coffee – trying not to look so abashed. Finally he spoke, Brooke shook her head lightly, “I haven’t had word of anything since the group investigating left Maple Town. I expect I’ll have some news by nightfall, then I can let everyone know about it by the morning.” That’s what she hoped for anyway.
She took another deep sip from the mug, her eyes watching what was going on around the centre as she asked, “I heard that you traded with Mr. Clark? Nice move, gets the news circulating about different Pokémon for each Leader.” Brooke could already see faces turning to see Soren and Brooke together, this was uncomfortable. Charizard sensed her anxiety and stepped in beside her, his hulking stature positioned as if he was on guard of Soren – hopefully that ought to give the right image to the trainers staring.

"Ah," he muttered as she explained what she knew, or rather lack of knowledge concerning the status of the poachers and teh efforts to apprehend them. He nodded when she mentioned the trade between he and Tobias Clark. "Indeed, I've already started working with his Zebstrika, he's coming along very well."
He could feel the gazes turning in their direction and took note of Brooke's discomfort. He felt a little twinge of guilt, he would've stayed away if he could, but his pokemon needed help. Charizard positioned himself next to Brooke, the large orange dragon glaring down at him like a watchful bodyguard. Well, that would certainly destroy any illusion of friendliness. He cleared his throat nervously - he'd always been wary of the dragon every since it had unceremoniously dragged him away when he thought Soren was an intruder in the lab. "Bloody hell Brooke I know you don't like me but that's a bit harsh," he mumbled. "Well I'm sure everything will work out..."
He stood there, idly fiddling with the cuff of his coat trying to figure out what to say. "Erm did I tell you that Sarra will be living with me on a full time basis soon?"

Brooke was glad to hear that Zebstrika was doing well, she’d need to call upon Tobias at some point soon to see how Soren’s Weavile was doing in his care – he figured that they would get along famously, as Soren and Zebstrika had done.
At Soren’s irritance towards Charizard’s hostility, she couldn’t help but muster a smirk, “You’ve done enough as it is to tarnish my reputation Soren. I need to be precautious. Nothing personal.” She insisted, but not entirely sounding honest. The Professor took finished up her coffee and placed it on the counter. She did her best to look interested when he mentioned Sarra, of course, in her eyes she revealed a lot more – Brooke was rather fond of Soren’s little daughter, she had made a good little assistant. “Is that so? I’m surprised she hasn’t tried mutiny to go and take her Torchic to Hoenn so she can take on the League.” She teased, but again, sounded quite serious in her tone – almost sarcastic.
Charizard snarled, but then looked up simultaneously with Brooke when a young trainer came charging through the door; wailing with panic. She stepped forward in front of the young boy, who she found was cradling a Pokémon that even Brooke didn’t recognise. “Calm down dear… What is that you have there?” She asked, in the boy’s arms looked like a puppy – she almost mistook it for Leafeon at a distance, but now it was clear the body was canine. It was green, with large leaves sprouting from its neck. It was badly hurt, and Brooke knew it needed help.
The boy sobbed, “I-I don’t know! I just saw it being attacked by a group of Spearow, I just grabbed him and ran!” Brooke noticed the boy had a few scratches on him as well, he must have gotten caught up in the fight when rescuing the poor little creature. She flashed a look at Soren, she really didn’t know what to think. “I’ll take care of him.” Brooke said softly, plucking the puppy out of the boy’s arms and cradled it in her own, standing up straight.
Charizard sniffed at it and was stumped, Brooke pursed her lips. “Both of you come with me, we’ll help this little thing and get your scratches sorted. Soren, you can handle him yes?” With an elegant flip Brooke showed off a spring of youth as she vaulted the counter and opened up the gate way so the two could follow. She’d go into the back room, “I’m sorry for this Joy, but these are extraordinary times.” Brooke laid out the little green Pokémon on a counter, Soren’s Pokémon all out and being treated seemed curious too of the little bundle, which had begun to whimper softly.

Soren nodded, feeling a little more at ease hearing the teasing tone in Brooke's voice. Okay maybe she didn't hate him that much...He couldn't stop the smile from spreading across his face at her little quip about Sarra. "Believe me I am too. It'll be another month before she actually lives here with me, I still have to settle a few things in court." he sighed. "Aggravating really, but her grandparents were rather plain that they wanted things done by the book."...that and he wasn't inclined to make Elizabeth's parents hate him more than they already did.
He was startled when the young trainer carrying - was it a Leafeon?...no, no it was too canine for that. The creature was clearly injured and the boy was sporting a few scratches of his own, presumably from rescuing the poor pokemon. Brooke wasted no time as she took the small bundle from the boy and quite literally leapt into action. She vaulted over the counter with ease and Soren couldn't help but stare for a moment. Oh my... A sharp jab to the back from Charizard's fearsome claws put him back on track. He shot the dragon a glare before ushering the boy into the back with Brooke. "Here this little hero could use some attention." he said pointing to the boy's scratches and cuts. The young trainer blushed as Soren patted his shoulder with a reassuring smile. "Well done young sir, we'll have you patched up in just a moment." Soren noticed his pokemon were moving closer to the strange little pokemon and whistled sharply. They all retreated to a safer distance at their master's bidding - he was no scientist but he knew stressing the already injured creature wouldn't help matters.
He moved to stand next to Brooke and spoke quietly. "I've never seen a pokemon like that before - what do you suppose it is?"

Brooke gently ran her hands through the fine fur along the little Pokémon’s back, then gently began to feel its ribcage and softly pressed her fingers into the creatures underbelly to try and work out a little more about it – and see if there were any internal problems. After a few moments and another soft cry of pain, Brooke had found the little puppy had broken its leg and those scratches needed tending too as well. Nurse Joy took a moment to place down a tray of materials for Brooke to work with, she thanked the Nurse as she went to tend the little boy. Charizard grunted as he shuffled into the room last, closing it behind him. Even the old beast was curious as to what the boy had found.
"I've never seen a pokemon like that before - what do you suppose it is?" Soren queried and Brooke pressed her lips together, forming a deep frown. “I really don’t know Soren. I’ll need to take it back to the lab once we’ve gotten him in a better state.” She had begun to splint the front leg of the Pokémon, quickly taking the chance to see if it had any claws by gently pressing her thumb into its paw. Hm. “Retractable claws... Very feline, but this is canine physiology.” Brooke was eager with excitement that she had the chance to find out whether this creature was a new, undiscovered Pokémon. Though for now she was calm and collected.
“Can you pass me the alcohol swabs please?” Brooke asked as she positioned the Pokémon carefully so that she could see how many scratches she needed to deal with. There was a nasty gash on the underside – she’d need to stitch that first. Brooke began to rummage around so that she could ready needle and thread, Nurse Joy went to get them from a cupboard on the side, “If you could just clean the outside of that wound that would be good.” She asked Soren, referring to the deep cut. It wasn’t bleeding, but there was a little bit of grass and dirt in there that needed to come out before she stitched it up.

Soren's lips twitched in the smallest of smiles as Brooke began to treat the little pokemon's injuries and analyze it at the same time. Despite the potential discovery of a new pokemon she remained calm and collected - though there was a light in her eyes he'd never seen before. When she asked for his help in cleaning a nasty gash on the pup's underside he nodded and swiftly stripped off his overcoat so his movements wouldn't be restricted - that and it was quite warm back here.
Carefully he dampened a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and started to clean the wound as gently as possible. The little pokemon whimpered and started to struggle a little, managing to hook those retractable claws Brooke had noted, of one paw into his shirt sleeve. He paid it no mind and kept tending to the cut, reaching down to stroke the puppy's head soothingly. "There, there it's okay," he murmured, his normally frigid eyes softening at the poor creature. "You'll be alright."
Once the wound was cleaned he looked up at Brooke expectantly. "Do you want me to hold this little fellow while you stitch that cut up?"

It pained to see the little creature in such pain, but she was knew that this had to be done. Emotion had to come into it late, she had to focus. The needle and thread was prepared and ready, Brooke looked up at Soren as he offered to hold the Pokémon still, and she nodded and thanked him. Once the creature was held firm, she began the procedure of stitching the wound; she worked quickly, clearly having experience at the speed and precision she was working at; seeming immune to the little cries of pain.
Once she was finished she moved back quickly, snipping the excess thread from it and moving away. She heaved a deep breath and Joy took away the equipment, Brooke gently cleaned around the stitches and took a step back. The little creature was still whimpering, paralyzed with fear now. “I’ll take him home with me, he’ll be safe there. I’ll be able to keep an eye on him too.” She looked over to Joy, “We need a cast on his leg, I’ll leave you to do that if that’s alright.” Brooke requested and Joy nodded happily, she too was curious of the new little Pokémon.
Brooke washed her hands thoroughly and turned to Soren, “Thank you for your help Soren. I really didn’t expect we’d be doing this today. Or ever in fact, it’s not often you find a Pokémon no one has ever seen before…” She turned to the boy, who was all patched up now. “Thank you very much for bringing him to us. He’ll be fine now.” The boy looked relieved, thanked the three of them and then left.

Soren nodded and took the little creature into his hands, resting it on its back in his lap while Brooke went to work. The pup whimpered and struggled a little but the Pokemon Professor made short work of the procedure, remaining completely focused the entire time. As soon as she was finished she stepped back and asked Joy to prepare a cast for the broken limb she'd splinted earlier and went to clean her hands. He was quite surprised when she turned and thanked him.
"Not a problem," he said softly. He waved to the young boy who'd brought the pokemon in as he left and then turned back to Brooke. "Quite amazing really - I didn't think a new pokemon would crop up in Kansai of all places."
He paused and inspected the holes in his sleeve made by the pup's claws and smiled. "I think you've got your work cut out for you Brooke," he said with a grin. "I'll be looking forward to reading about that little creature when you've published the reports."

Outside of the Pokemon Center, the people had gone rather quiet as one of the strangest sights walked past them. Roxanne was sporting a black and white striped tank top and some tripp pants covered in chains. Her arms were decorated with chain-like bracelets and armbands, and her ears were shiny with piercings. Her eyeliner was heavy as usual, her lips paled and her hazel eyes intense. Her feet clunked with heavy black boots, and a belt hung loosely around her waist, holding six pokeballs. Her hair was crazy with green and black streaks blending in with whitish blonde. Along her right arm she had a tattoo that read "Brother" in cursive writing and the "o" replaced with a pokeball. She looked almost freakish. But she wore it well. In a crowd of young guys nearby, one of them yelled out something that sounded like "freak!" and they all giggled like schoolgirls. Roxanne walked over without missing a beat and shoved the first guy into his crowd, yelling out "You're a freak!" She cracked a grin at the irony of her statement, and took a step back. "You wanna go?" The boy she shoved asked, trying to regain his dignity. "Come on then!" He began to pull out a Pokeball. He let out a rather girlish scream as a black mass jumped out at him and grabbed his head, making Roxanne laugh hysterically. "Next time, know your place," she said to the kid scrambling to get her Sableye off of his face. "Come on punk," she said and Sableye followed without hesitation, pleased with itself. (Entrance, made! )

((Hey Roxanne where's your characters profile? I'd really like to read it :3))
Soren methodically adjusted his cravat as he slipped on his coat, but didn't yet button it up as he was still waiting on Crobat's wing being fixed. Nurse Joy had said it would only take a moment once she finished placing a cast on the little pup pokemon that still had them all baffled. Absol wound between his legs with an affectionate growling noise, but upon receiving no pat upon the head or terms of endearment she pouted and decided to see if she would have better luck the Professor.
She rubbed herself against the woman's legs attempting to sound cute, but all it really did was cause Soren to raise a slender silver brow. "Down you little mischief maker," he chuckled, gently nudging her away from Brooke with the tip of his boot. The Absol huffed indignantly and went to sit by Aerodactyl who, to his credit, was doing his very best to try and keep his hulking form out of the way. Both Soren and his pokemon perked up upon hearing muffled, yet high pitched shriek that came from outside the building. Soren glanced at Brooke, eyebrows raised again. "Did you hear that?"

"I'll be looking forward to reading about that little creature when you've published the reports."
Brooke nodded, “I hope you like reading, I think this will be a daily log on this little creature.” She looked over the little green Pokémon, who seemed to be calming down now some and curling up to rest.
Outside, a faint scream was heard and the Professor looked confused for a moment, the scream was high pitched but it sounded.. male. That worried her, she turned to Soren, who had heard the same thing. “Joy, I’m going to leave the Pokémon in your care, I’ll collect him this evening so that he isn’t disturbed for now.” Joy agreed happily, quite eager herself to find out more about the creature.
Brooke left the room, Charizard loping in behind her. They traipsed outside and there they just saw the end of a little fight, she hadn’t seen the Sableye on the boy’s head, but boy if she had. Either way the boy looked rather shell shocked, she’d approach the group – noting the punkish looking girl. “Are you alright lad?” She asked softly, whilst Charizard glared at Roxanne's Sableye.

Soren watched Brooke leave and was left standing alone in the back room of the Centre. He tapped his foot impatiently, wondering what to do - he was sure Brooke could handle whatever was going on, but dammit he was curious. He was sure the Professor was going to chew him out for following her, but still he wanted to know what was going on and to make sure she was alright. "Come along," Soren said to his Absol before turning to his remaining pokemon who were all looking at him expectantly, "The rest of you stay here!"
With that said the gym leader went after Brooke, however he took care to walk slowly and casually - running after a woman the tabloids loved to pair him up with probably wouldn't be the best course of action. When he emerged outside he saw Brooke and her Charizard standing before a group of young trainers. One boy looked white as a ghost and trembling, clearly having being given a good scare. The gym leader's wintry eyes picked out another figure, a rather - different looking girl standing slightly apart from the crowd with a smirk on her face and a rather smug looking Sableye at her side. He looked between the two - it didn't take much to figure out that there'd been some sort of altercation. "Is everything alright here?"

The boy stood up when Brooke and Soren emerged, but Roxanne was not quite done with him.
"It was nothing, mister and missus. We was just having a little fun, poor kid's scared of Ghost types. But hey," she wrapped an arm around the boy she'd just scared, "Weren't we going to battle now?"
The boy was quite shaken, but saw an opportunity to once again regain his dignity. "Y-Yeah! Your Sableye verses my Mightyena!"
"Bring it," Roxanne said almost too cooly. She turned to go to her position, but not before she looked at Brooke and Soren and said, "Enjoy the show."
Behind her, the boy pulled out his Mightyena. Sableye turned to face its opponent.
"Mightyena, use bite!"
The black canine Pokemon ran at Sableye easily, but it was a step too slow.
"Fake Out!"
Sableye reappeared in front of Mightyena and spooked it easily, causing it to flinch.
"Shadow Claw!"
A huge slash of shadow sent Mightyena back a little, yelping at the pain. Sableye was much higher up in level, and that was slowly becoming clear.
"Shadow Sneak!"
Sableye disappeared into a shadow and reappeared, making one final attack before Mightyena went down.
"Mightyena!" The boy yelled before running over to it. "It's okay buddy, you just evolved, now you deserve a good rest." He looked up at Roxanne, and while still spooked by her, he had to hold a sort of respect.
Roxanne took a bow, then walked towards the center, about to pass Soren and Brooke along the way. She paused midstep and looked at them both strangely.
"...You don't really have a thing going on, do you?"
