Tobias chuckled and saluted to the crowd, the shear roar of them almost overwhelming. He patted his giant Electabuzz as it stood tall next to him letting off blasts of electricity into the air, the clap of the thunder it created exciting the crowd around him. He looked into the crowd, enjoying the sight of all the people and pokemon littering the ground around him. He spied Evie in the crowd and took a Pokeball from his belt. He had forgotten to put Pikachu back into the PC before the parade and knew this would be too much for him, especially to battle. "Look after him for me!" He called out, his hand held to the side of his mouth to amplify his voice over the sound of the crowd, throwing the Pokeball to her with the other hand. He looked around to see other girls holding out their hands to him, wanting him to give them something as well. He shrugged smiling. "Sorry girls, that's just for her." He said, chuckling when he saw their disappointed faces. "But we have something special for you wonderful ladies!" He continued lifting his arm and pointing to the sky. "Electabuzz, use Thunder!" He shouted, Electabuzz letting off several bolts of lightning that collided in the sky creating huge yellow fireworks. Tobias chuckled again as the crowd watched in awe then let out a roar of approval.

William walked into the crowd, moving to the front as great blasts of electricity shot up up into the sky. He looked on in awe at the great trainers that were aboard the floats in front of him. He looked up as he was pushed back by a group of girls, giggling amongst each other and swooning over the trainers. William sighed and moved to the back of the crowd, taking a Pokeball from his belt and realising his Onix, its crystal body glinting in the sun as he climbed onto its head, holding onto its horn. "Give us a lift would ya Onix." He said smiling down to his rare pokemon as it lifted its head above the crowd so William could get a better view. He smiled as some of the crowd peeled there eyes from the floats to look at his rare pokemon.

"Maybe I can introduce them to you if they're not busy."
Evie stared and had almost lost her words, she soon found them, "T-that'd be awesome! Thank you!" She then realised that she hadn't even introduced herself! She shook her head and made a gesture with her hand, "Oh! Forgive me, my name is Evelyn. But please, call me Evie." She grinned and offered him her hand.
"You bet! I'm not turning down this challenge! How about you?"
Evie pulled a face as if she were uncertain, "I'd love to, but the problem is most of these trainers will want to challenge the league. I'm a co-ordinator, we battle differently."
She looked over her shoulder back to the crowd when she heard, "Look after him for me!" Evie nearly yelped when the Pokeball was thrown to her, she had to jump to catch it and make sure no one else got their mits on it. She stared wide eyed at it and looked up back at Tobias on the float, "They'll be safe with me!" She called back, then looked between Seth and the Pokeball, who had he entrusted her with?
She clicked the ball to release whoever was inside and beside Vulpix and Quilava appeared Tobias' Pikachu, Vulpix called happily at the sight of the Pokemon; happy to see it again. Pikachu cried out happily and looked up at Evie before jumping up to sit on her shoulder, "Eek! ... Sorry Pikachu, I'm not used to having Pokemon on my shoulder." She admitted with a chuckle before petting the electric type. "Look! It's Tobias and Elecatbuzz up there!" Evie laughed, pointing to the float. Pikachu yelled happily seeing their trainer up there.
Evie turned to Seth, "Come on, we better go to the contest hall so we can get good seats!"

There were a lot of people here. Nearly too many for Tamsin to handle. She far preferred smaller crowds. Not being on her own, she liked people, but liked to be able to talk to them. Here there was just noise. She felt isolated on the podium. The others leaders didn't look too out of place, so she just smiled and waved at the crowd. They seemed to enjoy that.
Cloyster hovered next to her, looking over the crowds. Tamsin would have liked to have had Skarmory with her, since he'd been her friend for longer, but Cloyster really helped to pull off the defence image. The Aspis Badge was mounted at her feet. This was all a bit too much.

From the reporter's area Jack could see the whole procession. It was at the very front, just by the start area, and it was packed. All the journalists from all of the media in all the regions were here, and Jack had to squint against all of the flashes from the cameras.
He was furiously noting down every detail that he could write about. What they were wearing, how their Pokemon looked, the moves they were showing off with. Then he remembered. He pulled his rucksack off of his back and unzipped it to find Seth's camera. He'd borrowed it back in Maple town, and now was the perfect time to get some shots.
He was lining up a shot when he saw him, Seth, on the other side of the road. He was chatting to some girl. Look this way, dammit!

"A co-ordinator? What's that?"
A sudden appearance of a Pikachu caused him to forget he'd asked, but was impressed at how well Tobias trusted Evelyn with his own Pokemon. Seth grinned.
When Evie said they had to get ahead to get good seats, he began to run along but spotted a familiar face in the crowd.
"Jack!" he waved at his friend. "You battling today?" Everyone was here, and that made Seth smile wide.

Ignus still stood on the float, noticing the clap of thunder coming from the Gym Leader float, sporting a nervous look on his face. "Wow...looks like one of the Gym Leader's giving an impression during the parade...hey, Baron." The Blastoise looked over to his partner, giving Ignus a curious look, the Explorer flashing a confident grin. "Maybe we should do a little something as well? The Blastoise still looked at him curiously, but upon seeing Ignus' grin, nodded in agreement, Ignus whispering some orders to Baron, then got up on the Blastoise's shell, pointing to the sky. "Okay, Baron! Let's make it a little interesting, huh? Hydro Cannon."Baron then shot two jets of water from its cannons, which then dispersed. Ignus then pointed immediately at the blasts of water, and then yelled, "Now, Baron. Use Ice Beam!" The Blastoise then opened its mouth, and released a light-blue lightning bolt which hit the splash, causing it to rain small snowflakes, Ignus sighing, Baron admiring the work they did. "Well, let's hope they love it, Baron." the Explorer said as the snowflakes fell from the sky, the crowd staring in amazement. (What do you think? Been a while wince I've done a reply, just got back from a trip with little internet access...I'm done now.

Post by Brooke Verity on May 15, 2011 16:06:47 GMT -5
(Right, I think everyone who would be in here would have posted by now, so I’ll continue ) Brooke knew full well that this would only get increasingly awkward as they kept going, she didn’t like being so exposed to the public like this. It only happened twice, when she got her two championships; even that only lasted a few months each time and she’d just be another face. She took a deep breath as the parade disappeared into a sectioned off area to allow the public to go into the stadium, the Champions and Gym Leaders would be led backstage where they would each be rigged up and prepared to go on stage; but would have to wait until everyone was seated. Once ready, the Champions and Gym Leaders would be allowed to mingle and get refreshments, this would also be the time where reporters would charge in and get their photos and interviews. A woman immediately went over to Brooke and thrust a tape recorder into her face, “Ella Woodland reporting for the Goldenrod Gazette, how does it feel to be presenting and battling in front of all these people today Professor?” She spoke so quickly that Brooke nearly didn’t understand what she said. Ninetails nudged the small of her back to remind her to answer when Brooke sort of just stood there gawking, “Oh! Well uhm, it’s an honour really. It’s great that I’ve been chosen to present the show and promote the Kansai League to the rest of the world.” The reporter continued to probe her for answers, and Brooke would give anyone a pleading look to come and rescue her if they had the chance!

Soren stepped down from the float and made his way into the stadium with his fellow Gym Leaders and the Champions. Absol wound carefully around his legs, glaring at any reporters who came to close. She wasn't fond of the cramped conditions, but a gentle nudge from her trainer told her to stop scowling. He answered a few questions, posed for a picture here and there but in generally tried to keep moving to avoid the media. They were a persistant lot, however and he was regreting his wardrobe somewhat. A frock coat and brocade waistcoat made him stand out a little too much apparently. He saw the pokemon professor - Brooke Verity, being hounded by a particularly persistant reporter. She looked panicked and he took pity on the young woman and gracefully cut through the crowd, very easy for a man of his stature. He'd help her and provide his own escape from the press in one move.
"Ah Professor Verity, I don't believe I've spoken to you in person yet," he said with a small smile, wedging himself between the reporter, who looked decidedly miffed and the professor. He bowed, taking her hand as he kissed the back of it in a gentlemanly manner. "An absolute pleasure. If you wouldn't mind I'd love to hear a little about your current work before the matches begin."

(Had to edit due to Eric not being on the forum anymore...)
Ignus stepped down from the float keeping close to Baron, the Blastoise acting like his own personal bodyguard, a few reporters intimidated by the giant turtle Pokemon's appearance. "Now, now Baron,"Ignus said, trying to coax his Blastoise to let them speak to him in person,"They're reporters. It's not fair to give them an interview if you keep on scaring them. Ah, yes, I'll speak to each of you one at a time."
He then noticed Brooke being greeted by none other than the Speed Gym Leader, Soren Forberg, and immediately saw the reporter from the Goldenrod Gazette being pushed aside. Ignus, feeling a little sorry for the female reporter, tapped her on the shoulder, and said, "Excuse me, but are you Ms. Ella Woodland? Ignus could see that the reporter immediately recognized him, as she shook his hand countless times before thrusting a tape recorder in his face, which showed no flinching. "Ah, yes, Mr. Draco. What a surprise seeing you here! How has your research here in Kansai been?" Ignus scratched the back of his head, which showed that he was thinking, and replied, "Well, it's a very beautiful place. And with such beautiful scenery, there must be some hidden discoveries waiting to be found."
"Ah, I see. Well then, how does it feel to battle these Trainers today, Mr. Draco?" "Hmm...well, I hope that my opponents and I have a good, clean fight, and not do anything reckless. Don't want anyone to get hurt, right?" Ignus can tell that the fights will be magnificent. He got word that, in the first set of rounds, he would be fighting not just Brooke, but one of the roaming Gym Leaders as well (the last one being because he has the highest number of Championships out of all the Champions present), a man by the name of Terrance Fletcher. I just hope that Brooke doesn't vent her anger on me for what happened in Corkwood Jungle...but Terrance Fletcher...who knows, perhaps I can get one badge out of the way...eh, not that I'm participating in the Pokemon League challenge...
As soon as Ella Woodland left (she was talking off his ears, literally) Ignus walked up to Brooke and Soren, smiling. "Hello, Professor Verity. Nice day for a parade, huh? And you must be Soren Forberg. I am Ignus Draco, it's nice to meet you."

Tobias jumped down from his podium, closely followed by Electabuzz who stood tall next to him, he had a habit of acting like a guard dog and Tobias had now given up on trying to stop him. He knew that none of these trainers would be intimidated by him though so for today it didn't matter. He moved to a corner awkwardly, not really knowing any of the others in person, only by their reputations. "Calm down Electabuzz." Tobias said gently, placing his hand on the large electric pokemon's back, Electabuzz responding with a disgruntled huff, but relaxing slightly as told.

Post by Nyght Zasq on May 15, 2011 23:49:33 GMT -5
Nyght had withdrawn Aggron as soon as they had entered the backstage area, remaining silent as ever.
He looked over everyone, making sure he recognized whose face was whose. He had a feeling he was the only Kansai-born person here, but he was not intimidated by the thought. In fact, he became rather curious as to what he would find as different between them all.
Reporters suddenly flooded in, and Nyght tensed slightly. He was never one for reporters. He slid his earring off, fearing he may lose it in the rush.
He saw Professor Verity being completely overrun by questions and saw Ignus and Soren come to her rescue. The reporters pressed on (no pun intended) upon each Leader and Champion, making it difficult to get to their resting spot.
A reporter shoved their way towards him, sticking a microphone of sorts right next to his face. "Mister Nyght, this must be very emotional for you knowing that you lost your father! How are you feeling?"
"Right now? Hungry."
"What-?"
Nyght walked away without a second thought given, and yelled out "If you may excuse us, the Leaders and Champions need to get to their set destination in the backstage area! Allow them to move accordingly!"
Although the reporters continued to get in the way, they did make a slight path for them to move when done talking. Nyght went into the backstage area and immediately grabbed something a donut off of the snacking table, shamelessly taking a huge bite out of it.
He turned and saw someone looking at him, and said through a full mouth, "What? I'm hungry!"
(Nyght's not usually a jerk like right now, he tends to be a tad sarcastic when he is focused on something ;P )

Post by Lumine Divina on May 16, 2011 0:06:37 GMT -5
As Lumine descended from the float, swarms of reporters stampeded her way, the young Pokemon Ranger trying to get a hold of something to avoid being swept away. She saw Ignus and another man go and save Professor Brooke Verity, and for some reason, that ticked Lumine off in the wrong way. "Panpei, clear a path for me, please!" With those words, her Simipour cleared the way with a Waterfall, dousing the reporters in water, pushing some of them out of the way.
As Lumine apologized to every reporter in turn, she heard someone yell, "If you may excuse us, the Leaders and Champions need to get to their set destination in the backstage area! Allow them to move accordingly!"
Turning, she managed to catch a glimpse of another one of the Gym Leaders, Nyght Zasq, making his way backstage, and immediately Lumine walked over to the backstage area, noticing Nyght taking a huge bite out of a donut, and sat there, then shamlessly took a donut from the table as well, nibbling on it, her Simipour Panpei watching the roaming Gym Leader.

Post by Lorna McKinley on May 16, 2011 11:38:12 GMT -5
((haha forgot Lorna's part, friggin' stunned ain't I? XD))
Lorna plucked a bagel from the refreashment table and nibbled on it with a lopsided smile as she answered a young reporter's endless barrage of questions. Typhlosion yawned widely and rested his massive head on her shoulder, causing the biologist's knees to bend slightly under its weight. She didn't really mind the press all that much. Aside from - oh what was that bloke's name - oh yes, Soren Forberg, she was the oldest one there. She was somewhat used to the media, and even better at dodging them if she was in the mind. This young man, however, seemed more interested in her scientific work then anything else so she was more inclined to oblige him.
After he'd snapped a quick picture he bobbed his head gratefully and slipped away into the crowd. "Nice chap wouldn't you agree Typh - hey!" the Johto veteran scowled as her pokemon extended his head over her shoulder a little further and snatched the bagel out of her hand, and eating it with a few snaps of his strong jaws. He nuzzled her face, his breath smelling distinctly of sitrus berries as he tried to look innocent. She flicked him on the snout, but she was smiling. "Oi that was mine you glutton, I just fed you before the parade!"
The pair stayed in their relatively quiet corner, nodding and saying hello to their collegues as they passed by. The Champion took a moment to laugh as Soren Forberg cut through the crowd, seemingly trying to spare Brooke from being swamped by the press, greeting the professor in his decidedly - unique fashion with Ignus joining them a short time later. She watched the exchange with mild amusement as she waved off a few reporters of her own. Both men were exceedingly tall, almost the same height with Ignus being a fraction taller, but that's where the similarities ended really. Even standing back on to her it was easy to see who was who just from their posture and how they carried themselves. Ignus was confident, though somewhat relaxed while she noticed the gym leader stood rigidly straight with a calmer, if not colder exterior.
Deciding she was starting to feel like a stalker she moved over to two others who'd wandered to the refreashment table - oh how damn their names were escaping her now. She approached the young man with a crooked grin. "Hey, how ya doin'?" she said as she plucked another bagel from the table, glaring at Typhlosion over her shoulder. She spotted the girl and got a flash of memory. Lumine Divina, her opponent for the day. She gave her an wave and a smile before tucking into her food, Typhlosion watching her intently for any oppourtunity to plunder it.
