Tobias stepped out into the arena as he name was called, a little surprised by just how many people had turned up to watch them battle. He waved to the crowd, Electabuzz copying his trainer and doing the same next to him. He winked over to Brooke as she looked at him, chuckling gently, enjoying the adrenalin rush that was building inside him. He looked at the other leaders as they came out into the stadium, nodding to all of them out of respect.

"138 West Stand." William enlightened her and she grinned, "What're the chances huh?" Alas, the joys of role play. Evie would grin as he introduced himself, "Nice to meet you William!" Evie would lead the way in, turning in her ticket as they were seen inside and to their seats. Evie rubbed her hands together in excitement as Vulpix jumped up into her lap and Tobias' Pikachu perched on her shoulder, all feeling the rush of anticipation in the arena.
Suddenly, the lights dimmed and finally the Pokemon Professor came out onto the stage. There she showed the five badges and introduced the Gym Leaders as they emerged. The moment that Tobias was announced Evie roared with enthusiasm, "Go Tobias! Wooo!" She screamed, Pikachu and Vulpix joining in.

"And you sweetheart." William replied running a hand over the top of his long hair once more. He sat down carefully, jumping slightly when Evie shouted, laughing slightly after. "You know him?" He asked looking from her to Tobias, then back to Evie once more.

Each of the Gym Leaders strode out onto the stage and in turn the crowd went absolutely wild for them. Brooke grinned and felt the energy coming from the crowd, Ninetails feeling the same way as its many tails swayed and wove in amongst each other like serpents. Brooke turned and smiled at each of the Leaders and then back to the crowd to continue; the Kansai Totem on the screen split back into the five individual badges and then flipped to reveal the other side, there revealing the bar code on each one.
“The Kansai Pokémon League is different than others. There is a time scale in which a trainer can battle the Gym Leader, in order to become Kansai Pokémon Champion; you must challenge them within one year.”
There was a murmur of uncertain anticipation in the crowd, which Brooke played upon with a smirk, “It’s no lie that we have the toughest Gym Leaders around, but also the most challenging League as well. As you can see here, on the back of each badge is a bar code, this reveals the age of the badge to make sure that it is in date and that a trainer isn’t trying to use an old badge to form their Totem.”
A sense of understanding surged through amongst the crowd, she was pleased they were getting it. “Once you have achieved in getting all five badges, you turn in your Totem to have the bar codes scanned at once and an individual ID number is issued to the trainer. This is also your lottery number, your ID and the IDs of other trainers go into a digital database and twelve names are drawn to enter into the Championship League, obviously, whoever comes out on top will be crowned Kansai Pokémon Champion.” A pause, “If you lose out? It’s the end of the road and you’ll need to re-challenge the Gym Leaders.”
Surprisingly, the crowd seemed to love this idea. Hardy trainers from all over were screaming and declaring their dedication to beating the Kansai Pokémon League, the hardest league in the entire world, and to become the Pokémon Champion.
After that? Brooke laughed and the crowd could guess what would happen next, “And now is the part that you’ve all been waiting for-“ That was the cue for the Pokémon Champions of the past to take their positions on the stage, to stand amongst the Gym Leaders and really provide the perfect picture to illustrate the League. “-Allow me to introduce to you the Pokémon Champions; Lorna McKinley, Ignus Draco and Lumine Divina. Here today, with me, to battle against one another and really show you all how it’s done!” Brooke struck her trademark pose that she used back when she was a trainer and Ninetails held her head high and threw off a Flamethrower over the stage and over the battle ground which was in front of the stage.
The crowd roared and that would be the cue for the Gym Leaders and Champions to go off stage. Brooke would remain until last and wave to the crowd, “Good luck to everyone who enters the Kansai Pokémon League!” The crowd cheered as Brooke and Ninetails exited the stage.
“Phew! Glad that’s done. Ready to battle Ninetails?” Brooke grinned at the large fox Pokémon, who barked happily in retort. Brooke fished out the two other Pokeballs she had brought with her; containing her Raichu and Dewgong. Brooke expected that the crowd would want her to use her Dragon Pokémon, because of her abilities as a Dragon Tamer now. She wanted to give credit to Ninetails, Raichu and Dewgong; they hadn’t had their chance to shine in a long while.

Ignus sighed, hearing Brooke's sentence, and alongside Baron walked out onto the stage, waving cheerfully to everyone in the stadium, the Blastoise bellowing out in excitement. The crowd was roaring, but he knew it wasn't just him. Despite that out of the Champions present he had the most titles, he wasn't at all comfortable using that for his status.
Waving to everyone, he saw Brooke's Ninetales shoot a Flamethrower into the air, and then scratched his chin, feeling some stubbles of chin hair, and sighed. "Perhaps I should've cleaned myself up before coming out here...eh, oh well. Baron." The Blastoise looked at him, eager yet trying to listen. Ignus grinned, and whispered to the Blastoise, "Do you think you can try that little routine we did on the float one more time?"
The Blastoise nodded, and pointed its gun barrels at the sky, shooting out a Hydro Cannon, waited for a minute, the whole crowd looking up, and then Ignus pointed one single finger up at the sky, and seeing its cue, Baron let loose an Ice Beam, striking the water, and once again, froze it into small snowflakes, which began falling slowly, some of the crowd staring in amazement.
Ignus smiled up at the beautiful sight. "It's not as fierce or intimidating as a Flamethrower...but, you have to admit Baron...I just like seeing snowfall, don't you? It's so...peaceful..." The Blastoise nodded in agreement. Ignus, hearing the crowd roar, took off his explorer's hat, brought it down in front of him while bowing, and placed it back on his head as he went backstage, hoping that the snowflakes would melt and dry up in time for the battles ahead.
He smiled at Lumine briefly, and then took out the two Pokeballs he would use in his fight against Brooke: one containing his Piloswine Typhon, and the other containing his Gallade Garet. Looking at both Pokeballs, and then at Baron, he flashed a grin, saying in a low whisper "This is certainly going to be interesting...my blood is beginning to boil with excitement..."

Lumine stood nervously on stage when the Champions were called out. She was used to being around small groups of people, but she was known to have slight stage fright when having to be on stage in front of hundreds of people. Her Simipour Panpei tugged at her sleeve, and Lumine sighed, seeing Ignus and his Blastoise Baron doing a little routine of their own, causing some snowflakes to fall around.
Lumine couldn't help but giggle slightly. After being in some parts of the regions where there was snow falling everywhere, Ignus became enthralled by the beautiful blankets of white powder, and eventually had Baron learn how to make snow using Hydro Cannon and Ice Beam. Lumine could tell that Ignus was excited, especially when she felt a few snowflakes touch the top of her head, her Simipour dancing amongst them. Lumine knew that Ignus was going to have fun in his battles, and she hoped that she had his confidence.
Thinking about what Soren Forberg and Ignus told her, she gripped her hand tightly, and said to her Simipour, "Panpei, I'm going to try and have fun. I'm not sure about winning, but I just want to enjoy the battle as much as I can. Let's both promise on that." The Simipour sighed, and shook Lumine's hand, The Pokemon Ranger and Champion smiling warmingly. She managed to noticed Ignus smiling at her, and then turning away. Lumine smiled, and clasping her hands together, said in a whisper, "Legendary Pokemon of the many regions, may you watch over Ignus in his battles today."

Lorna grinned her trademark grin as her name was called and she and Typhlosion walked onto the stage, taking up a spot next to Lumine. Typhlosion roared excitedly as he watched the antics of Brooke and Ignus' pokemon and he sent a jet of fire into the air as well, not a particularly impressive display, just a act of pure joy and excitement from the bear-like pokemon.
The biologist stepped forward a little and gave the crowd a lazy two-fingered salute as she turned to Typhlosion and as they'd done backstage, fist-bumped the burly fire-type earning a gale of laughter from the crowd. She loved that far more than the applause - she was here strictly for fun, winning would certainly be a plus but it wasn't everything, just seeing the happiness on her pokemon's face a grand prize on its own.
The Johto veteran let out a joyous whoop as Brooke and Ignus prepared for their battle "Alright c'mon Brooke! Do it for the scientists!" she bellowed with a goofy grin. Even Typhlosion waved his forearms and roared to cheer on the Professor.

The Champions joined them on stage, and soon after the explanation of the League, the Champions prepared to battle.
Nyght took his place backstage when the two Champions took their place on stage, and felt the excitement of the crowd seeping through the walls.
Hitmonchan joined him as he watched from backstage. This was going to be fun.

There were more people here, in the stadium, than there were outside, Tamsin was sure of it. Standing there, on firm ground without the fear of falling off of a moving float, she was really shocked by the sheer scale of the event. This would put Kansai on the map.
She was already in the mood for a battle, and returning backstage leaving the two Champions to duke it out made Tamsin's adrenaline start pumping. This was it. The ball was about to start rolling.

"You know him?" William queried, Evie flashed him a huge grin, "Yeah! I met him when I was travelling, I didn't even realise he was a Gym Leader! He beat me though, we were doing a little training battle. He's real tough."
Tobias's Pikachu squeaked its name and Evie laughed, "Oh! And this is his Pikachu! Tobias left him with me to take care of during the event. I guess this is a good chance for you to see how other Pokemon battle huh?" The last question was pointed towards the little electric mouse Pokemon, who nodded enthusiastically.
The loud announcer from before reappeared as his voice echoed across the room, "Ladies and gentlemen! Please welcome onto the field; The Pokemon Professor of Kansai Island - Brooke Verity and four times Pokemon Champion - Ignus Draco!" The crowd went wild as their names were called.
Where a plain battlefield was set up in the middle of the arena, the middle of it split in half to pull away. Underneath a new battlefield was emerging; it looked to be a scaled down version of the Corkwood Jungle, palm trees and corkwoods littering the playing field with a small pool of water in the middle.
"Wow! I never knew they would theme the battle fields!" Evie exclaimed with delight.

"Do it for the scientists!" Lorna cried which made Brooke laugh, "I'll do my best!"
Backstage there was a TV screen for everyone to have a look at what was going on outside in the arena. The battlefield where Ignus and she would battle it out was revealed, Brooke looked uncertain; she had heard that they might do something with the fields but never actually go all out on them! It looked like a miniature Corkwood Jungle, which meant that she would need to pick her most agile Pokémon. Thankfully; Ninetails and Raichu would be more than up to it. Dewgong would have the advantage in the pool in the middle. Returning Ninetails to her pokeball, Brooke gave herself an assured smile – this would be interesting.
A tap on the shoulder by the stage manager told her that it was time, Brooke nodded and emerged back onto the stage when her name was called. She walked to the middle of the stage and descended down the stairs that led down into the area where the battlefield was, she was directed by the referee to the right side of the field. Brooke took up her place in the square laid out on the floor where the trainer would wait; three pokeballs on her belt ready for action. She looked back to the stage as the crowd roared, Ignus about to emerge.

Hearing the crowd roar, Ignus sighed and looked up at his Blastoise with a confident grin, saying, "It's time, my friend." and returned Baron to his Pokeball, making his way out to the arena floor. He could hear the crowd roaring louder as he walked out, him covering his ears slightly since he wasn't quite used to this many people cheering because of him. Smiling, he took a look at the stage, his eyes slightly widening as he stared at the miniature version of Corkwood Jungle with a single pond in the center. Baron would have the advantage using the pool, and Garet had no problems whatsoever. It was Typhon that made him worry. The Piloswine was made for Defense and high Attack, and had some Speed, but not enough if he was going to fight against Brooke.
Sighing, he waved to the crowd smiling, and made his way down to where he would stand, and looked over at his opponent. He just hoped that Brooke would keep this fight friendly, but he was beginning to have doubts. She was still pretty miffed at him for the whole tower incident, but that didn't matter today. Today, he was going to battle her, and try to have fun.
He yelled over the crowd's roar. "Let's get this battle started, huh?"

Brooke had the habit in a serious battle to hold a poker face at all times, Brooke’s battle with Lorna just the other day was for fun; but this was business to the Pokémon Professor – she had an example to set for the many trainers all over Kansai and beyond, she had a reputation to keep as well so this was important to her. Brooke took in a sharp breath when Ignus took his position on the opposite side of the field; once ready, the referee called out the rules.
“This is a three on three match, after one battle all Pokémon must switch out!” Brooke nodded in understanding, the referee continued, “Alright, let’s battle!” The ref cried and flew up his flags to signal the start of the match, causing the crowd to go mental with anticipation and excitement. Brooke gripped her first pokeball and tossed it into the Jungle, a flash of light showed the first Pokémon that Brooke had chosen; her Raichu. The orange mouse had darted up a tree to show itself to the crowd as it perched on the canopy and set out a number of sparks.
“Okay Raichu, it’s your time to shine!”

"A Raichu, huh?" Well, this is going to be a disadvantage, but..." Ignus took out his Pokeball, and sent out Baron, the Blastoise looking at his Trainer questioningly. Because of types, Raichu had the advantage, but Ignus grinned, saying, "Baron, it's about time we gave them a show!" Baron nodded in agreement, and readied himself. Heh...this hasn't been the first time I faced an Electric-type Pokemon with Baron...I always had to be careful with my moveset...this place has a pond...perhaps I can use that to my advantage...it's worth a try... "Okay, Baron. Let's kick things off! Ice Beam, go!" The Blastoise roared and sent out a light blue beam aiming at the Raichu. "Would you look at that, ladies and gentlemen. Despite having the disadvantage with this matchup, it appears that Mr. Draco is taking the risk and attacking first!"

"Okay, Baron. Let's kick things off! Ice Beam, go!"
Brooke shot Raichu a look as it watched the blue beam of ice head straight for it, "Get to the ground Raichu! Stay to the undergrowth!" She called out, Raichu complied, leaving only a second to spare as the ice beam shot over head as the electric mouse dove into the bushes. I need to get that Blastoise into the pool... She needed to create a diversion, push him in the right direction - regarding that the beast wasn't going to go there already;which she figured he would seeing as Blastoise was water type.
"Raichu, use thunderbolt!" Brooke instructed, Raichu was running around the side of the battlefield, sticking to the bushes to remain out of sight. The idea was to get behind Blastoise and usher him into the pool. Once in position, Raichu would cry out as it lept forward and shot out a bolt of lightning straight towards Blastoise in hope of getting him to start moving.
