The food was nothing substantial, just a selection of cakes, little sandwiches and bowls of crisps, but Tamsin wasn't particularly hungry anyway. She had that rising feeling in her gut that she always got before a battle. She was up against Nyght Zasq, the attack leader. From across the table she watched him, sizing him up as he ate his donut. Attack. That'd be interesting against her defence.
It wasn't a big thing that she won, but she didn't want to seem like a push over. Then every trainer under the sun would beam line for her first, hunting her down like dogs thinking she was easy pickings to start their totem. They'd be wrong of course, but still, it would be an annoying hassle.
She found the drinks table and poured out a coffee. That would calm her down. Clear her head. This was going to be a good day.
((Just an idea, but should we have another thread for the non VIP commoners to chill out in, outside in the crowds? Jack has to give back Seth's camera!))

(I like that idea! It'll help keep the others included so we don't lose them entirely ) Nyght smirked when the other contender came in and began to consume a donut just as shamelessly as he was, rude as it probably was. Nyght wans't big on media etiquette. He looked around the room as more battlers entered. Some seemed to know each other already, others not so much. He spotted Tamsin from across the room getting coffee. He had to admit, it was an interesting combination. Attack verses Defense. It took a lot of skill to develop a defense team, so he had respect for her. Nyght finished his donut and took another, and though it did not show, he was slightly anxious about the upcoming battles. But he had confidence in his team. Even if they lost this battle, they would prove they were one heck of a team to face.

Evie gave Seth a startled look, “You’ve never heard of Pokémon contests? They originated in Hoenn and now pretty much every region has their own league; here included... It’s sorta like... I won’t say a beauty competition because it’s more than that, it’s about show boating your Pokémon on their own and in a battle; linking together moves to make beautiful show stopping combinations!” She grins, “so that’s what I do, I co-ordinate Pokémon to do that. I’ve won all the ribbons from Sinnoh. Well, except the Grand Festival. But that’s okay. I’m rambling I’m sorry.”
She shut up after that and carried on walking, then seeing a huge crystal onix at the back of the crowd with a person sitting on top of it, “Oh wow! Look Seth!” She turned, but his attention was towards someone called Jack. Evie turned and scratched Pikachu’s ear whilst Vulpix stuck to Seth’s Quilava like glue to keep that egg warm. "Hello." Evie would say to Jack when he came over.

Jack turned away from the doors as the other reporters headed inside. He'd already got a private interview with the Soren Forberg under his belt, and what he really wanted to do now was go and see Seth. Winding through the crowds he finally managed to catch up with him and the girl he'd been talking to.
"Seth!" He greeted, standing awkwardly, suddenly realising that he didn't know the guy well enough to greet him informally with a high five or a hug. Instead he just sort of stood there, smiling...
"Hello." the girl said, and Jack had the horrible realisation that he hadn't introduced himself. "Jack!" he announced, holding a hand out to the girl. "Freelance Reporter."

Seth listened intently as Evie explained Pokemon Contests. In all truth, though he lived in Hoenn for a time, he had never learned much about such contests, let alone being a co-ordinator.
Jack came over soon after, and Seth grinned. After Jack and Evie met, Seth said, "We should go find our spots soon, before they get filled." He looked up just then to see the Crystal Onix pass by, and Seth couldn't help but stare for a second.
When it had passed, Seth said "So who is battling who in this? I didn't grab a program or anything yet."

"Jack! Freelance Reporter." The new man introduced himself as, Evie suddenly perked up, a huge grin on her face, "Oh! A reporter huh? How interesting..." Maybe she could use him to gain some fame? Oh stop being so big headed Evie! "I'm Evie."
"So who is battling who in this? I didn't grab a program or anything yet." Upon hearing this, Evie fished into her pocket to find the program she had bought earlier, "Hold this please." Evie asked, holding out a neatly folded up dress to one of the guys to take for her. "Aha! There we are." She found the program and flipped it open and read about the first match. "Oh sweet! Lumine Divina and Lorna Mc-"
Evie was cut off by a large voice echoing over the plaza of the contest hall as they approached, "Ladies and Gentlemen, there has been a change in our program; the first match will now be Ignus Draco vs Brooke Verity, the battle between Lumine Divina and Lorna McKinley will take place afterwards."
She pursed her lips, "Oh! Well. There you go then."
(This is because Lorna's going away for a couple of days xD)

The announcement made Jack buzz with anticipation. Oh lordy, today was going to be amazing. "Well Evie, it is a pleasure to meet you."
He turned to Seth, mock annoyance on his face. "Where the hell did you guys go? I went back to the lab in the morning and it was empty."
Chuckling, he looked back to Evie. "You guys have your seats for the battles booked yet?"

William looked at his ticket, reading the seat number over once again then looking around to try and discover the location of the seat, but to little avail. He sighed deeply, still holding on to Onix's horn as he looked around once more for some kind of diretion before accepting defeat. He saw a small group of people talking and figured he should ask for directions, sliding down Onix's back before landing on his feet and walking over to them, his Onix close behind, the light still shimmering from its crystal body.
"Excuse me." He said rubbing the back of his head with his hand as he looked to the others. "Im a little lost, I don't suppose you could help me could you?" He asked smiling awkwardly.

(Hey William could you change the colour of your font please? I'm having a hard time reading it against the blue D; )
"You guys have your seats for the battles booked yet?"
Evie pulled out a ticket, "I do! I'm in seat 137 on the West Stand, what about you guys?" She asked eagerly, hoping that the two of them would be nearby. Evie gave Seth a confused expression when Jack said to him about leaving the lab, but she wouldn't pry.
Instead, the man with the crystal Onix had approached them and asked for directions, "Oh! Sure, what stand and seat number are you in?" She asked, a cheery grin on her face. With that though she'd turn to Jack and Seth, "Guys I'll catch up with you later, Seth, com'ere a sec..." She'd take his arm and pull a pen from her bag and began to write numbers on his skin, then her name afterwards. "That's my Pokegear number, so when you're seated we can find out if we're anywhere near each other." She grinned.
Evie then turned to William and began walking towards the arena with him, "We better hurry, they'll be starting soon! I'm Evie by the way."

William grinned as he looked down to his ticket, reading the number from it aloud. "138 West Stand." He replied before looking up and smiling sweetly. "William's the name." He said taking one of the two pokeballs off his belt and touching Onix with it, returning it to the pokeball in a buzz of red energy. "Your to big for this one mate." He said to the pokeball grinning again before putting it back onto his belt. He ran a hand through the top of his long blue hair as the walked out into the main arena, the shear awe of the place stunning William for a moment, the enormity of it, the roar of the crowd and the growing sense of excitement that was thick in the air. "Woah..." He mumbled as he craned his neck and span on his heals taking the whole place in.

(mmk, well, we can’t wait forever so here goes!)
Brooke grinned at Tobias, “Keeping your distance, aha, I’d hate to fight you Tobias. My team are all used to close quarters.” She laughed, then placed her hands on her hips, “Oooh! A surprise? I can’t wait to see that, let’s hope you pull out the stops in your battle.” Brooke grinned. She was about to continue her conversation with Tobias until a stage hand came rushing up to her with a microphone pack, “Hello Professor, if I could just rig you up that’d be great, you’re on in five.” The hand informed her, Brooke gave Tobias an apologetic look “Business calls. It was nice talking to you Tobias.” She said before going with the hand just out of the way, the pack was clipped to the back of her belt and the mic was woven through underneath the back of her jacket and clipped onto her lapel. Quickly turning the switch on, Brooke was lead into the wings on stage. She turned to look at Ninetails who was right behind her, nodding encouragingly. Brooke took a deep breath as the loud announcer’s voice filled the room and silenced the roaring crowd for the briefest of moments.
“Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the first annual Kansai Pokémon Parade!” The voice cried and the crowd screamed in anticipation, “And now... your host, the lovely Pokémon Professor of Maple Town; Brooke Verity!”
The crowd howled as Brooke took her cue to go on stage, stunned by the sell out stadium before her as she went to centre stage; Ninetails striding in beside her. Brooke didn’t look the least bit awestruck, no, she looked as if she were thoroughly enjoying herself and things hadn’t even started yet! “Hello Kansai!” Brooke began, the crowd cheered at her words and Brooke felt an odd sense of power over them as she raised her hands, they screamed even louder. She giggled to herself and then took a step back as the lights dimmed and a projection appeared up on the back of the stage, “Introducing today is the very first Pokémon Kansai League. I will be explaining how our League works – as it’s nothing like you’ll know. We pride ourselves here in having the five strongest Gym Leaders in the entire world and instead of focusing upon elemental strength; they rely on statistical prowess...”
On the screen, five badges whirled into view. Brooke went through them all one by one, and when explaining them, the respective Gym Leader would come out onto the stage. “The Spec Badge, Special Attack – Tobias Clarke!” Brooke held up a hand to the left side of the stage where Tobias should emerge. She’d then swiftly continue, “The Tego Badge, Special Defence – Terrance Fletcher!” The elusive Terrance strode out from the right side of the stage, with him a mighty looking Bastiodon with him. “The Aspis Badge, Defence – Tamsin Shale!” Again, the Gym Leader would emerge from the left, “The Titan Badge, Attack – Nyght Zasq!” Finally, Brooke rubbed her hands together with a grin as the last badge appeared on screen, “Finally, The Fleet Badge, Speed – Soren Forberg!”
The crowd bellowed with glee and excitement as the badges on screen all wove around each other before finally settling into - “The Kansai Totem.”

(yikes, so sorry about the late responses! I'll catch up now ) Evie had hurried off to her seat, which left Seth to catch up with Jack. Jack mentioned the lab, and Seth remembered that Jack had meant to come by. "Cripes, Jack! We both forgot! We left early, there was a tower nearby that was causing grief to the Vibrava and Flygon... We owe you for leaving you behind without notice," Seth said. "I'm still tagging along with Brooke until I set off on my own, I can get you an interview with her if you're still up for it!" Speaking of which, Brooke's voice spoke over the loudspeakers. "C'mon! We've got to get our seats!" Seth said, nearly jumping with excitement.

Backstage Nyght lined up on the right side of the arena, and returned his Badge to his ear.
He pulled out a Pokeball and brought out Hitmonchan, who flexed before standing beside him. Nyght returned to his usual stance and waited for his name to be called.
He heard the Champion Brooke call out his name and he stepped forward, Hitmonchan right beside him. The Titan Badge flashed on the screen, forming with the other badges. He watched to see the Totem form, and he grew excited. This was only the beginning of the League's first year.

((Aiight let's get this party started :3 ))
Soren took his respective place in the line up backstage as he waited for his name to be called. Absol stood faithfully at his side, looking straight ahead with intense focus. When his name was called he stepped out onto the stage, the Fleet badge flashing in the background behind him before the entire Kansai Totem formed on the screen. Soren stood straight and proud - even he couldn't halt the excitement flooding through him and it showed in the sly smirk on his face. Absol seemed to share her trainer's feelings as she puffed out her chest and struck a fierce pose.
The gentleman gym leader bowed to the audience before retuning his attention to Brooke, waiting for the next announcment about how their unique league would work.
